William (Bill) Clayton Howard, age 89, late of Bethune, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24, 2026.

Bill was born in Frobisher, Saskatchewan on October 30, 1936 to Herbert and Mary Howard. In his early years, he relocated to British Columbia, where he met the love of his life, Anne. Bill worked numerous jobs over the years, beginning with Pacific Western Airlines (PWA) as Base Manager. After PWA closed, he worked briefly for Metro Vending and Canada Cup. He later spent many years working in security and maintenance at Lansdowne Mall in Richmond, British Columbia.

In 2001, Bill and Anne relocated to Bethune, where they resided on their daughter and son-in-law’s farm. Bill loved tinkering around the farm - helping with haying, calving cows, and “fixing” anything that had broken down.

Bill was known for his big heart, his soft spot for animals of all kinds, his strong work ethic, and his love of sports - especially coaching his children when they were growing up and umpiring. Above all else, Bill’s pride and joy was his family.

Bill was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Mary; father and mother-in-law Thomas and Gladys Gordon; his brothers Bruce (in infancy), Les, Fred, and Lyle; his sister Eva; and son Tom.

He will forever be remembered by his loving wife of 68 years, Anne; their children Bob (Alison), Jim (Corinne), Debbie (Ray), and daughter-in-law Debbie; their grandchildren Nick (Tamara), Michelle (Amadeus), Karina, Jesse, Kimberly (Brett), Dakota (Steven), Sierra (Connor), Mikayla (Timothy), Colton, Sidney and Jaime; their great-grandchildren Kensey, Addisyn, Mayla, and Bo.

Per Bill’s request, no service will be held. Those wishing to make donations in Bill’s memory may do so directly to William Booth Grace Hospice, 50 Angus Road, Regina, Saskatchewan S4R 8P6.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at William Booth Grace Hospice for their attentiveness, compassion, and care during Bill’s final days.
