It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Martin Sereda, of Regina, SK, on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the age of 88 years. 

He was a loving husband to Mary (predeceased); father to Terry (Caroline), Debby, Laurie (Larry), and Greg (Leona); grandfather to Megan, Alex, Michelle; brother to Henry Sereda (Irene) and Sophie Marusiak; as well as uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

Martin was born on February 14, 1936 to parents Julia and Dmetro Sereda in West Bend, SK. Martin was born and raised on a farm near West Bend, SK. He was the youngest of 10 siblings, two of which passed away shortly after they were born. He attended Cresswell and Gilbert schools in the West Bend District of Saskatchewan.

Martin played the accordion and was passionate about music. He met the love of his life, Mary, at a dance where she was performing. They dated for 2 years and, during that time, they enjoyed playing music in a band together. Martin played in numerous other bands and eventually formed his own which he played in for over 17 years. 

Martin and Mary were married on July 26, 1958 and moved to Regina in 1960 where together they raised their four children Terry, Debby, Laurie, and Greg. 

Martin worked for Crane Supplies, Conley and Westburne for over 35 years in Regina. He found a second passion in photography and began his photography career at Elan Photographics in 1977 and then Royal Studios in 1980. Martin had the privilege of being one of the Official Photographers of both the Regina Pats (1977-2014) and the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1982- 2016) and of shooting six Grey Cup games. 

Martin and Mary, along with their closest friends, spent many years travelling across Canada, the United States including a memorable trip through Europe.  

Martin lived an incredibly active and social life. He spent his free time golfing, curling, bowling and daily trips to the gym. He was a generous and self-less husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Regina Funeral Home, 4001 East Victoria Avenue, Regina, SK. 

The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Kelliher, SK. The interment will take place in Kelliher Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Kelliher, SK. 

The family wishes to extend sincere thanks and gratitude to the staff of the Regina Pasqua Hospital Unit 3A for their exceptional care given to Martin during his final days.

Sean William Quinlan, 76, passed away on September 5, 2024, in Regina, Saskatchewan.

He was born on December 27, 1947, to parents Beatrice Alice Quinlan (nee Egan) and Horace Daniel Quinlan (Quinn) in Ottawa, Ontario, and grew up in Toronto, Ontario.

Sean attended Ryerson College and graduated with a Diploma in Broadcasting.

His first job took him to Swift Current, Saskatchewan, where he was a news broadcaster for CKSW Radio. Sean became very involved in all aspects of Swift Current life and became the CEO of the Swift Current Chamber of Commerce.

He married Joan Kathleen Quinlan (nee Fisher) on August 25, 1973, and had two children, Erin Kathleen and Ryan Daniel.
Following his chamber work, he became Director of Marketing for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was very successful in this role, contributing to the fan experience as we know it today.

Five years later, he returned to political life as Director of Communications for the Government of Saskatchewan. Following this, he started Ryer Management, where he worked on projects such as the RCMP Heritage Centre. He travelled throughout North America promoting tourism on behalf of the Centre. Retiring, he found a place on several Boards, most notably the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Board and the Regina Public Library Board.

Sean was an avid golfer; he loved all sports but especially golf. He loved reading and was a lifelong learner. He collected political memorabilia and followed politics of all kinds. Family was incredibly important to Sean; he worked on his family genealogy for many years, an impressive labour of love.

Sean is survived by his spouse Joan, son Ryan, daughter Erin (Jonathon), two granddaughters Kayla and Alice, siblings Dan (Jan), Anne Marie (Dave), Pat and sister-in-law Carolyn. Sean had many nieces and nephews that he was so proud of and loved so much.

He was predeceased by his parents Quinn and Bea, sibling Brian, and sister-in-law Betty Anne.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Royal Regina Golf Course, 5401-11th Avenue West, Regina, Saskatchewan.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Shelly passed away on September 3, 2024 with friends and family by her side.

Shelly was predeceased by her parents Erna and Alex Ramage and her life partner “Brucie” Hunt. She is survived by her daughters Tracey Johnson (Dean) and Lori Brown. She also leaves to mourn her six grandchildren Shayanne Brown (Denny), Alexandria Johnson (Mike), Jestin Janzen (Gina), Kelsi Brown (Jordan), Steven Hess and Jared Hess (Mackenzie); twelve great-grandchildren; her sister Carol Fawcett (Gerry) and her brother Jim Ramage.

Shelly was a hard worker but also enjoyed her time with her kids and was always up for taking them and a car load of their friends roller skating, swimming, camping or on many other adventures where she would usually have the whole car load singing songs or playing road trip games. She would later extend these good times to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was able to make each and every one of her grandchildren feel very special.

Shelly enjoyed learning and a little later on in life went back to University and received her B.A (hons) in psychology and finally on to earn her Masters of Education (counselling psychology) at the University of Calgary. She then spent many years being able to put her education to use. She was a great friend to all who knew her and was truly a believer in “no man gets left behind”, this idealism showed on holidays and family gatherings where there was always extra plates and lots of food for good friends or anyone who may be spending the holidays alone or far away from their families. She was a non-judgemental listening ear to many of her friends and family and was usually able to offer some good advice on a wide array of topics (and there were a lot over the years). She loved her time at her camper at the lake, where again, everybody was welcome.   She had a great sense of humour and I think most would agree she was usually the life of the party. When she was at home she enjoyed her deck and having coffee or a drink with neighbours and was grateful for all the help she received from them after she lost her “Brucie”.

To say Shelly will be a missing presence in the lives of her family would be an understatement.

Bernard Frank Joseph Dayne, born June 10, 1953, passed away on September 1, 2024. 

Bernard was a farmer all his life working with both animals and grain farming across Saskatchewan including areas such as Hodgeville, Francis, and Regina area in Saskatchewan. A true country man through and through. He would always be up for a coffee and a chat with friends and family and would make it his goal to put a smile on everyone’s face. He was a hardworking man with a huge sense of humour, one that will be missed by those who have had the opportunity to know him. 

Bernard Dayne was predeceased by his parents Frank and Helen Dayne, his siblings Gerald Dayne and Bernadette (Clarance) Travis. Bernard’s memory will be held on by his friends and family such as: sister Jacquie (Ian), nieces and nephews Diamonie, Bryan (Jody), Cherie (Kevin), Terran (Kay), Brandie (Brad), Wade (Kristie), his great nieces and nephews, cousins, girlfriend and friends Darlene, Tim (Angela), Cliff (Brenda) and many more including Aaron and the kiteboarders.

As per Bernard’s wishes there will be no funeral held, instead, MEMORIES are what was important to Bernard so to honour him please take some time to sit down and share a coffee and laughs with friends and family, make new friends, please continue his legacy.

We would also like to extend an apology to those who were not named earlier as everyone in Bernard’s life was very important to him.

Henry Bohay, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024 two days short of his 98th birthday. Henry was predeceased by his parents, John and Anna Bohay, along with seven brothers and sisters as well as numerous other loved ones and extended family members.

Henry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Eleanor; his children, Daryl (Gloria), Darcy (Leanne), and Sherry (Robert); grandchildren Kimberly (Michael), Curtis (Lexy), Cassandra (Cody), Benjamin (Alecia), Alyssa, and Victoria; along with 7 great-grandchildren, Hailie, Christian, Nora, Clara, Paxton, Paislee and Jacob. He is also survived by his sisters Rosie, Sophie (Albert), his brother Myron (Helen), sister-in-law Lydia Bohay, sister-in-law Gladys (Dennis) and many nieces and nephews.

Henry was born on September 5, 1926 to John and Anna Bohay in Goodeve, SK. He grew up on the farm where he enjoyed training horses, trapping animals, and instigating numerous shenanigans with his siblings. He worked on the farm until he met the love of his life, Eleanor. He married Eleanor Temple in Melville, SK at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on September 27, 1958. They moved to Regina, SK shortly after where he started working at E&P, which later became Westburne, until he retired in 1991.

In his pastime, Henry enjoyed playing baseball (and cheering for the Blue Jays), curling, golfing and of course his beloved Roughriders, even though they were frustrating at times. He could often be found in the stands cheering on his grandchildren for nearly every single activity. In his later years, he could be found berry picking, tending to his garden or in the kitchen cooking for his family. Henry and Eleanor were also able to travel to many destinations including Hawaii, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Disneyland and many road trips and bus tours.

Celebration of Henry’s Life will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in New Hope Lutheran Church, 370 McIntosh Street North, Regina, SK. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to [Saskatchewan Lung Association](https://www.lungsask.ca/) or [New Hope Lutheran Church](https://www.newhopelutheranregina.com/). The family would like to thank the staff on Unit 6A in the Regina General Hospital for taking such good care of Henry during his short stay in the hospital.

With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jacqueline (née Jacqueline Victorine Plourde à Danville, QC, le 24 mai 1934) Paul-Hus at the age of 90 in Regina, SK, on September 3, 2024, at home surrounded by her family.

Jacqueline was predeceased by her mother, Dora Camiré; father, Hector Plourde; her brothers, Maurice Plourde, Leo Plourde, and her adoptive brother, Adrien Camiré; her sister, Therese Robichaud; her son-in-law, Carl Conan (Lynda); and her ex-husband, Gérard Paul-Hus. She is survived by her children, Guylaine Gotchia, Sylvie Paul-Hus, Lynda Conan, and Gaétan Paul-Hus; her grandchildren, Richard (Carli) Gotchia, Jannette Gotchia, Matthieu (Carleah) Gotchia, Tyrell Conan, Cassandra Conan; and her great-grandchildren, Liv, Lilith, Kenzie, and Iris Gotchia. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Lise Rainville (Leo Plourde) and Rejeanne Labrie (Maurice Plourde), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins from Quebec.

Jacqueline moved to northern Saskatchewan with her husband and children and later welcomed her son. She dedicated her heart and soul to the farm, working alongside her ex-husband. In pursuit of a better life, she earned her Grade 12 via GED and completed a bookkeeping course, leading to a rewarding 11-year career at Farm Credit Corporation (FCC) in Regina, SK, after her divorce. No matter the challenges, Jacqueline faced them head-on with determination and grace. After her retirement, she spent the next 18 years between Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Ontario with her children before eventually settling back in Saskatchewan.

Jacqueline's strong sense of love for her family and her deep-rooted work ethic on the farm defined her. A strong and independent woman, she instilled those values in her children. Though illness and time caught up with her, Jacqueline will be forever loved and missed by the family she leaves behind as she joins those who went before her.

En quête d'une vie meilleure, elle a obtenu son diplôme de 12e année (GED) et a suivi un cours de comptabilité, ce qui l'a conduite, après son divorce, à une carrière gratifiante de 11 ans à Financement agricole du Canada (FAC) à Regina, en Saskatchewan. Quels que soient les défis, Jacqueline les a affrontés avec détermination et grâce. Après sa retraite, elle a passé les 18 années suivantes entre l'Alberta, la Saskatchewan et l'Ontario avec ses enfants, avant de se réinstaller en Saskatchewan.

L'amour profond de Jacqueline pour sa famille et son éthique de travail profondément ancrée dans la ferme la définissent. Femme forte et indépendante, elle a inculqué ces valeurs à ses enfants. Bien que la maladie et le temps l'aient rattrapée, Jacqueline sera à jamais aimée et regrettée par la famille qu'elle laisse derrière elle, tout en rejoignant ceux qui l'ont précédée.

Lynne fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in the early afternoon. Her passing was peaceful.

She is survived by her brother Fr. Leonard Herrem and his wife of 40 years Chrystal and their children John, Nathan and Lenore.

I. Lorraine Schutz, dearly loved mother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully in the Allegro Seniors Home, Regina, SK on Thursday, August 29, 2024.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Rudolph Schutz; her parents Louis and Elizabeth Wirth; her sisters and brothers Lily Adams, Violet Robins, Clarence Wirth, Harold Wirth and Walter Wirth; her sisters-in-law Louise Wirth, Irene Wirth and Sylvia Wirth; her brothers-in-law Robert Robins and Ed Adams; and her daughter-in-law Gail Schutz.

She is survived by her son Randy Schutz (Melodie Mazur), many Godchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

Lorraine was born April 26, 1931 at Killaly, SK. After her marriage to Rudolph Schutz, they moved on a farm near Neudorf, SK. In 1962, they moved to Regina. She had odd jobs until she worked at the Regina General Hospital as a Ward Clerk until her retirement.

She loved painting and gardening. She was a generous, loving mother, aunt and friend. She had a wonderful sense of humour and will be missed by all.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 935 McCarthy Blvd., Regina, SK.

It is with heavy hearts we bid farewell to our beloved Mom (aka "NAN"). Mom passed away peacefully with family by her side on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of 92.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Wendy (Ken) Golly, Kevin (Donna) Betcher, Holly Betcher (Jim Domoslai), Audrey (Addie) Niesner and Karen (Danny) Taylor; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; her brothers Stan (Sheila) and Eric (Rosemary) Dietrich; as well as numerous in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In passing she is reunited with her parents Caroline and Harry Dietrich; siblings Joe Dietrich, Ella Reiss, Bill Dietrich and Clara Maier; son Roy Betcher; grandsons Adam Niesner and Derek Taylor; niece and nephew Pam and Perry Dietrich.

Mom "NAN" truly loved her entire family with all her heart and soul. She lived a purposeful, meaningful and wonderfully fulfilling long life and will be sadly missed, fondly remembered and forever adored by all fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

Mom undoubtedly earned her wings and the moment she took her last breath, Heaven welcomed another beautiful Angel.

Special thanks to Brightwater Senior Living and Regina Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit 3A for the compassionate and loving end of life care they provided to Mom.

After a short illness Janice Roslyn Hicock (nee Garuik) passed away peacefully at Wascana Grace Hospice, Regina, SK on September 2, 2024 at the age of 77 years.

Janice was born on January 11, 1947 to Nick and Rose Garuik and raised in Regina, SK. She met her husband George while working at SGIO in 1967. Just three short years later they were married in 1970. George’s career took them to Calgary in 1973 where they lived close to Janice’s brother and wife. In 1978 they decided to return home to Regina and in 1980 they were blessed with their son Chris.

Janice continued working and spent the majority of her career working for the separate school board as a speech assistant, a job which she loved and took great pride in. She retired in 2011 after working for over 25 years. She enjoyed cooking and baking in her retirement years and would often send over care packages of food for her family. She was a loving and caring grandmother and was very proud of her grandchildren and their accomplishments.

She is survived by her husband George of 54 years; son Chris (Alexis) and granddaughters Violet and Fiona; her sister Joan Uhren; and her sister-in-law Mildred Garuik along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents Nick and Rose Garuik and her brother Gordon.

There will be a memorial service held for immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, Janice asked that a donation be made in her name to [The Regina Cat Rescue](http://www.reginacatrescue.com/).

Genevieve Berube, late of Saskatoon, SK, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024 with family by her side at the age of 94 years. 

She was predeceased by her husband Armand; parents Nicholas and Madeleine; her brothers Claude, Michel, Remi, Marcel, Jean and Charles; her sisters Monique, Roseline, Christiane and Luce; son-in-law Larry Eldridge. 

Genevieve is survived by her children Nicole (Dennis) Tempel, Julie (Brian) Kuntz, Jacqueline Eldridge, Michel (Debbie), Marcelle, Genevieve (Brett) Jones, Daniel (Glenda), Claude (Kim), Armand (Tracey) and Nicole (Chris) Appleby; grandchildren Carmel, Ryan, Joshua, Jeremy, Leanne, Craig, Richelle, Renee, Danielle, Derek, Chelsey, Cody, Kyran, Paige, Lydia, Gabriele, Kyle, Alain, Matthew, Ainsley and Allisen; 27 great-grandchildren; her    brother Jacques; her sister Madeleine; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. 

Prayers will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church. Karen passed away on August 9, 2024 at the age of 62 after battling multiple health issues.

Karen is survived by her mother Francis Niels; her sons Andrew Hajewich and Matthew Hajewich; her loyal friend Barry Hajewich (father of her sons); her two brothers Ken (Wenda) Niels and Bradley (Jackie) Niels; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friend Bob.

Karen worked for over 40 years as a hair stylist. She will be missed by her family and many friends and customers.

Karen loved her sons with all her heart and was so very proud of their accomplishments and the men that they became. She also adored her many pets over the years. Karen enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and loved to socialize with friends and family around a fire.

Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the G. Marconi Canadian Italian Club, 2148 Connaught Street, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen’s memory may be made to the [Regina Humane Society](https://reginahumanesociety.ca/).
