Dodge, William (Bill) Arthur

William (Bill) Arthur Dodge

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill) Arthur Dodge on May 19, 2026 at age 82. Bill passed away peacefully at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina, SK surrounded by his family.

He was predeceased by his parents Harvey Howard and Hilda Kathleen (nee Marshall) Dodge and his sister Lynn (Bill) Allen. He is lovingly missed and remembered by his wife Paddy (Patricia nee Bevis), daughter Amanda (Jasen), son Adam (Jennifer), grandchildren Sadie and Thomas, and Adam’s in-laws Barb and Greg Ellis.

Bill was born on January 14, 1944 in Edmonton, AB. His family relocated to Vancouver, BC, where Bill grew up, and later to Toronto, ON, where he attended high school in Etobicoke. Bill went to Waterloo Lutheran University in Kitchener-Waterloo, ON where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in geography. He married Paddy in 1969 and they settled in the greater Toronto area, enjoying life “BC” (Before Children). Bill became a father with the arrival of Amanda in 1977 and Adam in 1980. Bill returned to his prairie roots in 1983 by relocating his family to Regina, SK, where he has lived ever since.

Bill’s life was one of quiet faithfulness. His character exemplified humility, steadfastness and gentleness. He was other-oriented, focused on the needs of his family and community.

As a younger man, Bill was athletic and outdoorsy. He played football and tennis, enjoyed downhill skiing, but his passion was sailing. Some of his and Paddy’s favourite times were sailing and water-skiing on Gibson Lake, ON at the Bevis family cottage. Bill continued many of these pursuits through mid-life, with the addition of curling and motorcycling for good measure. Bill also enjoyed travel; he and Paddy had memorable trips exploring Great Britain, the Bahamas, BC, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland.

Professionally, Bill worked in mortgage finance for National Trust and the Mortgage Insurance Company of Canada. He obtained his CRA and AACI accreditations from the Appraisal Institute of Canada and conducted residential and commercial real estate appraisals for B.R. Gaffney and Associates.

Bill’s faith was central to his life. He grew up in the Anglican Church and as an adult he faithfully attended and contributed to St. John’s in Burlington, ON, and St. Phillip and Immanuel in Regina, SK. He served on vestry (church council), church committees and as a lay minister for decades. He was an active member of the church community, quietly caring for seniors and single parents.

Bill was an exceptional Dad. He was hands-on: there for bathtime and playtime, projects and schoolwork, discipline and comfort. He encouraged his kids’ skill development by enrolling them in countless extra-curricular activities. He faithfully attended their games and performances, always making a point of telling them he was proud of them and their accomplishments, even as adults. He instilled in his kids a love of travel through road trips and camping across Canada and the U.S. He supported them in their post-secondary education and marriages. He has been a lifelong role model to Amanda and Adam, who aspire to be like their Dad.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Immanuel Anglican Church, 142 Massey Road, Regina SK. Light lunch to follow in the church hall. Private family interment at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Bill’s family wish to thank the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Unit 3D of the Regina Pasqua Hospital and Regina Wascana Grace Hospice at William Booth Special Care Home for their compassionate care and support during his final weeks.
