Wagner, Steven (Steve) Arnold

Steven (Steve) Arnold Wagner

Steven (Steve) Arnold Wagner, late of Regina, Saskatchewan passed away peacefully on October 16, 2026 at the age of 62.

Steve was predeceased by his father Arnold Otto Wagner and numerous aunts and uncles. He is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Cornelia (Corn) Wagner; daughters Kyrstin (Adam), Allie (Matt), and Jenica (Matthew); mother Gerry Young; step-mother Dorothy Wagner; his sisters Bernadette (Jim), Cheryl (Reece) and Adrienne (Mike); 3 grandchildren Kinsley, Hayes and Nash; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-niece, great-nephews and friends.

Steve grew up on a farm in Earl Grey, Saskatchewan. He was always so proud of where he came from and loved telling stories from his childhood and teenage years which usually involved having loads of fun and getting into trouble! Steve and his family relocated to Regina when he was in high school which later led him to meeting the love of his life, Cornelia. They welcomed three “darling” daughters into the world, Kyrstin, Allie, and Jenica. Being their dad was something Steve cherished and was his greatest accomplishment. He was there for everything; Steve was always his girls’ number one fan in whatever they decided to do. This quality didn’t skip a beat when Steve became a proud Grandpa of three. For anyone that knew Steve, they knew how important his entire family was to him, something he learned from his dad, Arnold. He not only was a proud father and grandfather; he loved being a brother, cousin and uncle. Steve was always present at family functions, although fashionably late; his family had always teased him about this.

Steve was a sports fanatic; he grew up being active and playing many sports. Curling, ball, and hockey (specifically goaltending) were his favourites. He had Saskatchewan Roughriders season tickets for many years and was always watching the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Blue Jays in his spare time. Steve was always dressed representing his favourite teams. He was involved in the softball community for many years as all three of his daughters grew up playing. Steve often mentioned that coaching his daughters in softball with his best ball buddy, Richard, were some of the best years of his life.

Losing Steve is a void that will never be filled. He touched so many lives. He taught everyone that the little things in life are what truly matter; the simplest of things would bring a smile to his face. His witty one liners, special talent of giving a nickname to everyone, his constant “smoke breaks”, and of course the sound of his contagious laughter will be greatly missed. Steve wouldn’t want anyone to be sad that he’s gone, instead remember the happy memories that were made with him. His love is something that will never end or be forgotten.

Celebration of Life will be planned on a later date for close family and friends. The family asks in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s society.
