Fiesel, Rose Elizabeth

May 27, 2025

Rose Elizabeth Fiesel

After a long, heathy life, Rose passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home in Regina, Saskatchewan at the age 106. She was predeceased by her parents Adam and Maria (Mary); her first husband Anthony (Tony) Lozinski; second husband Jake (Jack) Fiesel; 11 brothers and sisters; son-in-law Stan; and her grandson’s wife Shelly.

Rose is survived by her three children Shirley (Dave), Phyllis, and Dave (Donna); six grandchildren Rik, Corey (Carla), Kim (Ben), Chris, Michelle (Trevor), and Jennifer; as well as three great-grandchildren Elia, Aida, and Graydon.

Rose was born, raised and lived most of her early life near Ituna, Saskatchewan. In 1941, she married Tony. They farmed and raised their three children. Rose was fiercely independent and very capable. Tony fell ill for many years and Rose raised their young kids, managed the farm, and cared for Tony on her own until his passing in 1959. She later sold the farm and moved her young family to Regina where she worked at the Grey Nuns Hospital, later known as the Pasqua Hospital. She also managed, fixed, and cleaned her own rental complex for many years.

In 1965, Rose married Jack where they traveled, raised Rose’s kids, enjoyed their grandchildren, and farmed near Regina in Earl Grey.

In 1983, Jack passed away. Soon after, Rose retired and spent much time with her family.

Rose dedicated her life to her family. While slight in stature, she was a presence, an incredibly strong woman with a very big heart and loving sense of humour. She made the best perogies and shared them with many. Her cottage in the village of B-Say-Tah (Echo Lake) was her pride and joy. She took great pride in her flowers, tending to her yard and growing gardens until she was in her late 90s.

Rose also drove until her late 90s and lived in her own home until she was 100. She prided herself on caring for her family, eating healthy food, working hard, and overcoming adversity.

A Private Graveside Service and Celebration of Rose’s Life will be held. Rose will be laid to rest in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, Saskatchewan.

In recognition of Diana and her team, and the outstanding people working at the Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, please consider donating to the Santa Maria Foundation.
