March 27, 2024
We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Ronald Langelier on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at the age of 79 years, with his family at his side.
Ron was born May 22, 1944 in Mutrie, Saskatchewan. During his life he had many different jobs, but the job he worked the longest was as the owner/operator of Fantasteam Carpet Cleaning. After retiring from that at age 60, he drove school bus for 10 years.
Practically all his life music played a major role. Ron started playing guitar at 15, and then began playing at dances with his mom and dad. He went on to play with many different bands including The Silvertones, The Royals, The Darnells and The Canadian Drifters. With The Canadian Drifters he had the pleasure of going on tour with Frankie Yankovic through North Dakota, Montana, and Saskatchewan. Ron was also privileged to play with many gifted local musicians throughout the years at many functions including weddings, cabarets, and polka fests.
Ron was predeceased by his father Charles Langelier; his mother Genevieve (Jenny) Langelier (nee Fisher); and his brother Raymond Langelier.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Fay; his children Benita (Ron) Ficor and their children Trevor, Justin (Ally) and Miranda (Mark); Ron Langelier Jr. and his children Jessie and Kyle; Tricia Langelier; Bryan (Julie) Langelier and their children Kadie and Carson; 4 great-grandchildren; his sister Debbie (Jerome) Kress; in-laws Ben and Flora Gruber, Elaine McDermaid, Gary (Diane) Gruber; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ron's dog Rylee also passed over the Rainbow Bridge on Friday, March 29, 2024. We take comfort in knowing that he has his little buddy keeping him company in Heaven.
We would like to thank the staff at the Regina General Hospital Unit 3E, Brightwater Senior Living, and the Pasqua Hospital Units 4D and 3A for their care of Ron in the last few months of his life.
There will be no funeral service as per Ron's wishes.
