February 13, 2025
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert (Bob) Chicoine, age 76, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, at the Lumsden & District Heritage Home on February 13, 2025. He was born on July 16, 1948 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. Robert was a devoted husband and a loving father.
He was predeceased by his parents Gaston and Angele Chicoine; parents-in-law Joseph and Celestina Ball; two brothers Edward Chicoine and Alan Chicoine; and brother-in-law Jim Ball.
Robert is survived by his wife Patricia; their children Jean (Garey) Schlecter; Paul (Jaime) Chicoine and their daughters Rylie and Braydee; and Roberta (Ryan) Becker. He is also survived by his siblings, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Robert met Patricia in 1974 and were married in Holdfast, Saskatchewan on July 26, 1975. Residing in Regina, it was there that they began to raise their own family, Jean, Paul and Roberta. Robert grew up on the family farm outside of Hoey, Saskatchewan and after high school graduation, he continued his education at the University of Saskatchewan, where he obtained a diploma in Agriculture. Following his education, he began his career as a store and service manager at SAAN stores and Petro-Canada, and later as salesman for Wynn’s Automotive Chemicals. He was a lunch truck operator and a courier driver. Robert’s last career move was as a long-haul truck driver working with several companies and finishing with Edge Transportation Services Ltd. After driving professionally for 20 years, he retired in 2012.
Throughout Robert’s life, he enjoyed listening and dancing to country music. Robert taught himself to play the guitar. Playing and singing country music on his guitar brought him endless hours of relaxation and enjoyment. He was an avid western book reader, enjoyed history documentaries, and was a Saskatchewan Roughriders fan. Viewing the games from the comfort of his living room with his family were always fun events. Above all, Robert cherished family and friends, keeping all his relationships close to heart.
In Robert’s retirement, he unfortunately suffered from dementia. His family embarked on this journey with him and endured all the challenges that dementia presented. The family extends special gratitude for the support, compassion, and care that Robert received from the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, Wascana Rehabilitation Centre, Santa Maria Senior Citizens Home, Regina Pioneer Village, and lastly Lumsden & District Heritage Home.
If wishing to, memorial contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan or Lumsden & District Heritage Home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (the Arbour Room), 4001 Victoria Avenue East, Regina, Saskatchewan. Interment to follow for immediate family.

I'm so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. Wishing you Pat, Jean and Paul great comfort in remembering all the joy and love you shared together. May all the memories create a safe and loving space for your grief. I remember all the visits we would take out to the farm. Many trips to the cow barns watching the Chicoine boys milk the cows, and the odd time me getting squirted with milk.
Love Carol-Marie (cousin)
