Boa, Robert Bruce

March 29, 2026

Robert Bruce Boa

Robert Bruce Boa left us on March 29, 2026, for a tee time awaiting him in Heaven. By his side was his loving wife Janice, together for 23 years.

Bob was born in Regina on May 12, 1950. He was truly one of a kind, a warm kind-hearted generous soul who never hesitated to help others. Whenever he saw someone struggle, Bob would say "Bless their Heart" and blessed many throughout his life. A natural born athlete, Bob played countless sports over the years and devoted many seasons to broomball alongside his best friend/brother Ted. His greatest passion was golf. He loved hitting the course with his buddies and brother Ted, golfing in Arizona, various courses in Sask. and was a regular at Flowing Springs in Regina.

Bob’s sense of humour was his superpower; he could make anyone laugh and was always ready with a quick zinger or one of his many “Bob-isms”. In their younger years, he and his brother Ted were known for their antics; always a proud Scott Collegiate alumnus, Bob would often joke "Scott Collegiate on the buzzer!".

Bob loved the outdoors and took great pride in keeping an immaculate yard which he beautifully landscaped and was enjoyed by many friends and family. Bob had an innate sense of design and detail. He loved and was very skilled at interior painting and always chose the perfect color. Bob loved clothes shopping (especially in Palm Springs) and was always meticulously dressed. He also loved garage and estate sales where he acquired numerous treasures. Bob’s office space overflowed with notebooks and always had these or a clipboard near him, filled with his ideas, tasks and musings.

Bob put together an impressive sports and memorabilia collection. His friend Bill from Oregon introduced him into collecting pucks and the two of them spent many hours searching and researching online. The collection grew into a jaw dropping museum sized display skillfully placed on every inch of the walls and ceiling in the basement. Bob would enjoy his “museum” listening to his music which he loved. He had a dedicated space for his beloved Edmonton Oilers and the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He also followed the Portland Winterhawks with his friend Bill.

Bob retired from Canada Post as a letter carrier and while there hosted many Green Jacket golf tournaments and his legendary after parties. There are stories that will be remembered and retold for years to come. On his route he met many people who he helped and they became his lifelong friends. Bob spent his summers at Regina Beach and winter vacations in Palm Springs where he and Janice were married.

Bob loved animals and adored his cats Sammy, Lyla, Mickey and Minnie who brought him endless joy. He supported animal rescue shelters and if anyone wishes to donate it would be a great way to honour Bob’s love for animals.

Predeceased by his mom and dad Robert and May Daisy; his sister Roberta “Birdie” (Jim) Glaister, his brother Ken (Annette) Boa and sister-in-law Annette MacFarlane.

Left to carry on his memory is his wife Janice; Bob’s daughter Kim (Wes); granddaughter Destini (Nick); son Jeff; his brother Ted; niece Kendra (Blane) Fichter and their children Cole, Jordan, Devin; nephew Bruce Boa and his children Kami, Aria; cousin Bob (Sunhwa) Glaister; father and mother-in-law Longene and Sally Karchewski (Bob affectionately called them Faja and Maja); sister-in-law Carol (Russ) Stevenson and their children Adam, Brennen (Jen) and their son charlie; sister-in-law Connie (Brad) Dewald; brother-in-law Paul (Angie) Karchewski and their children Tana (Adam), Natalie (Jordan), Braden (Megan); niece Brittney MacFarlane (Peter); nephew Jordan MacFarlane; and many other relatives and friends.

Bob will be forever loved and profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

With a Rum and coke or a glass of red in Bob’s hand, "Bless Your Heart"!
