Obituaries

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Robert “Bob” Allen Wilkinson, on October 2, 2025 at the age of 94, after a long and fulfilling life.

Bob was predeceased by his parents Frank and Florence Wilkinson; his three older brothers Bernard, Stanley, and William; and his adopted sister Alice. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 72 years, Stephanie; his three children Kathy (Raymond), Richard (Lorna), and Bill (Denise); seven grandchildren Dan, Mitch, Carla, Shelby, Paul, Jack, and Charlie; and five great-grandchildren Nick, Burke, Ophelia, Rowynn, and Jameson.

Bob dedicated his career to SaskTel, where he proudly worked for 35 years before taking early retirement. His retirement turned out to be longer — and just as full — as his career. During those years, Bob volunteered with the SaskTel Pioneers Computers for Kids program, where he honed the computer skills that continued to serve him well throughout his later years.

Each year he looked forward to his fishing trips at Besnard Lake with his close friends, as well as countless camping and fishing adventures in northern Saskatchewan with family. He also cherished bi-annual trips to Victoria, BC, to visit his parents, brother, and extended family. Never fond of harsh Saskatchewan winters, Bob and Stephanie enjoyed many sunny escapes to Hawaii and Arizona over the years.

Throughout his life, Bob’s love for animals was a constant — the family was never without a dog. From a beagle and golden lab to two toy poodles and two yorkies (one of whom still keeps Stephanie on her toes), their home was always filled with affection and companionship.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A private memorial dinner will be held in the near future for immediate family.
