Mike passed away in the early morning on November 11, 2025 at the age of 73.
He was predeceased by his wife Jo-Anne; daughter Danielle; parents Archie and Betty Montagnon; and his brother Tony.
Mike is survived by his loving daughter Michelle (Denton); grandsons William and Daniel; his siblings Maureen (Warren), Paul, and Lisee (Rick); nephews and nieces Sean (Janice), Todd (Michelle), Cody (Katrina), Lindsay, Seanna Todd (Naiumie), Melissa (Rob), and Jason (Angela); as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, many cousins and friends.
Mike was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on August 20, 1952. He moved to Kenora, Ontario with his parents in 1960. He attended Lake of the Valley School and Lakewood where he played football for the High School. Mike relocated to Winnipeg in 1972 and then to Gillam, Manitoba where he worked as an ice maker in the community arena. Mike and his family relocated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in the early 80s where he worked for the City of Saskatoon Metro Transit until his retirement. Mike moved to Punnichy, Saskatchewan in 2019 to be close to his family.
One of Mike’s greatest passions (besides his two grandsons) was reading; ask him anything to do with history and he could respond with dates and specific details.
Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026.

I never met Michael but the Todd's were related through my Aunt Rose. I was living in Saskatoon in the eighties and nineties. I probably took a bus when he was driving. I wish I would of known him. His cousin Danny thought highly of him.
