Maurice Alfred Lamontagne

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maurice Alfred Lamontagne, who left us in the early morning hours of July 2, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on January 29, 1942, in Bertwell, Saskatchewan.

Maurice is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Arlene, whose unwavering partnership and love were the cornerstone of his life. Together, they raised four children: Randy (Cindy) Lamontagne, Karlene (Eugene) Krupa, Bob (Kim) Lamontagne, and Karol (David..Crocket) Garvey. His legacy continues through his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and pride.

Maurice is also survived by his three remaining brothers, Edward, Clarence, and Mederick, with whom he shared a bond of brotherhood and cherished memories. His extended family, including sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews, will remember him fondly for his kindness, generosity, and the wisdom he imparted.

An avid outdoorsman, Maurice had a deep passion for hunting and fishing. He spent countless hours in the great outdoors, finding peace and joy in nature. He had many stories of his adventures in the wild, which he shared with family and friends, leaving a lasting impression on all who heard them.

Maurice was a true jack-of-all-trades, known for his incredible ability to fix anything and find better ways to solve problems. His ingenuity and practical skills were matched only by his extreme work ethic, a value he instilled in all his children along with the respect for our elders and the idea that no one owes you a living, you should work for everything you get. His family and friends admired his resourcefulness and the tireless dedication he brought to every task.

Predeceased by his brothers Bertie and Art, his mother Rachel, and his father Ludger Lamontagne, Maurice's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure.

A Private Family Service will be held to honor Maurice’s life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Maurice's memory.
