January 7, 2025
Linda Grace Kirby passed away peacefully with 2 generations of family by her side on January 7, 2025 at the age of 80.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years Ken; parents Don and Phyllis MacGregor, Irene and Harold Kirby; and brother-in-law Jim.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters Jude (Doug), Don (Lynn) and Doug; sister-in-law Linda; children Dan (Lori Ann), Anita, Mike (Carmen) and James (Ingrid); grandchildren Tyler, Melissa (Ryan), Tanner (Maddy), Matthew, Corvus, Ethan and Andrew; great-grandchild Dawson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Linda was born in Newcastle upon Tyne England and came to Canada as an infant after WWll on the maiden passenger voyage of the Queen Mary, which she was able to see again in person as an adult on a family vacation to California. Linda grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan where she met her husband Ken and raised her family. Linda was a working mother and spent many years working in Provincial Government as well as her own business. She had many passions and always enjoyed camping with the family, spending time at their cabin at Regina Beach, baking scones for our many adventures away from home and was one heck of a seamstress, making wedding dresses for Anita and Ingrid. The most anticipated gifts were her homemade "Nana-jammies" for all the grandchildren every Christmas. All of the holidays were very important to Linda. Getting the whole family together for a huge dinner was one of her loves and will be a tradition that lives on.
At Linda's request, a private family memorial will be held.
A special thanks to all of the wonderful staff at the Regina General Hospital Unit 3F.
