Linda Ann Roset

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved mom, nana, sister, auntie and friend, Linda Ann Roset, passed away in Regina, Saskatchewan with her children by her side on July 22, 2026, at the age of 72. Nothing mattered more to Linda than her family and friends. If you had the privilege of being loved by Linda, you know how it felt to be truly seen, accepted and valued for exactly who you were.

Linda was born on April 8, 1954, in Preeceville, Saskatchewan, to her loving parents Arthur and Lenore Erickson. The second of five children, she described her childhood as some of the happiest times in her life. She loved playing with neighbourhood friends – several of whom remained close throughout her life – and spending time with her family, especially trips to see grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins in British Columbia.

Her dream was to be married and have children. And at 17, her dream began when she met her soulmate Lynn Roset at a Pentecostal church youth group in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. They met in April, and on September 25, 1971, they married and started their life together in Churchbridge, Saskatchewan. Everyone who knew them said they were a perfect match. They were best friends who always made time for each other – to enjoy nature, listen to music, go for drives, cuddle and laugh.

A few years after they were married, she became a mother – a job that she called the most awesome and rewarding job of her life. They welcomed their first son Sheldon in 1974, and two years later, their second son Shane was born. They loved their life with their two little boys, but felt their family was missing one thing – a little girl. They made the decision to become foster parents, with the hopes of adopting a daughter; they were so thrilled to complete their family with the adoption of their little Chrissy in 1986.

Just as they were feeling their family was complete, Lynn became ill and Linda’s life was turned upside down when he passed away on June 13, 1986. She never imagined that they wouldn’t have the chance to raise their three kids together and grow old side by side. Her heart was broken – but she found the strength to give her children the best lives possible. She said that raising her kids alone was one of the hardest things she ever did, but also her greatest achievement. Her deep faith in God and Jesus sustained her through this unimaginable loss and remained a source of comfort throughout her life. While she met the loss of Lynn with extraordinary strength, those closest to her knew she carried the ache of missing him for the rest of her life.

After Lynn passed away, Linda made the decision to babysit and supervise lunches and recesses at Churchbridge Elementary School so she could stay home with her kids. She also continued as a foster mother for more than a decade, opening her home to more than 20, mostly newborn babies, giving each of them a safe and loving place while they waited for their adoptive families.

Once Chrissy was in high school, Linda took a job at the Yorkton Sobeys where she worked as a Food Service Worker for 15 years and made many special friendships. When Sobeys closed in 2014, she was hired at Langenburg Centennial Special Care Home, where she worked until she retired in 2017.

As her parents aged, she truly cherished the time she spent with them after they moved to Churchbridge. After her dad passed away, she was proud of the time she spent looking after her mom, putting her first by spending time with her in the evenings and on her days off and taking her places she knew her mom would enjoy.

Being a nana was a job she took very seriously, and each grandchild got to experience quality one-on-one time with her. She loved to spend time with them – laughing, talking, reading books, cuddling and going on little adventures together. She often wished she could do more with them and was deeply grateful that they accepted and understood her physical limitations.

Enjoying the simple pleasures in life was one of her many gifts. Whether it was having coffee with a friend, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, driving down a country road with the trees hanging over the road, or enjoying conversations with her budgie Keko, she soaked it all in. She loved nature – watching and feeding the birds – and she always made sure someone fed them when she was away. Being in the mountains was one of her favourite things, and she had special memories of travelling to British Columbia throughout her entire life.

Her sense of humour was wonderful, and she loved to laugh. Everyone who knew her well got to experience laughing with her until you both cried and then reminiscing about it years later and laughing that hard again.

Linda was a gentle, compassionate soul who always made time to hear what people had to say. She knew how to make you feel instantly comfortable and valued. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or someone she had just met, she listened with genuine interest and loved without judgement. She always told you that she loved you, and you could feel that love in every hug she gave.

Her greatest legacy is not simply what she did, but how she made people feel – seen, accepted, deeply loved and always welcome.

Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband Lynn Roset; parents Lenore and Arthur Erickson; her sister Elaine; in-laws Alf and Mona Roset; and brother-in-law Ron Roset.

She is lovingly remembered by her children Sheldon (Jennifer) Roset, Shane (Jill) Roset, and Chrissy (Ian) Weber; grandchildren Abigail, Alexander, Avery, Lily, Noah, Nevaeh, and Callie; her sisters Karen (Wayne) McEwen and Colleen (John) Shullman; her brother Terry (Valerie) Erickson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who she considered family.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Yorkton Union Hospital and Regina Pasqua Hospital for their care and compassion during the final weeks of Linda’s life.

Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Langenburg Evangelical Fellowship, 410 Wells Avenue East, Langenburg, Saskatchewan. Interment will follow at the Churchbridge Cemetery, Churchbridge, Saskatchewan with a lunch reception afterwards at the Churchbridge Community Centre, 116 Vincent Avenue West, Churchbridge, Saskatchewan.
