Leonard Carl Lipp

Leonard Carl Lipp, age 90 years, passed away peacefully in the early morning of October 1, 2025, in Regina, SK. Leonard was born on a farm west of Dilke, SK and was the youngest of 10 children.

Len was predeceased by his mother, Helen (Bengert) in 1938, just prior to his 3rd birthday, and his father, Michael in 1965. Len was blessed with 9 siblings, his 6 sisters, Rose (Paul) Fox, Mary (Max) Ball, Kay (John) Bengert, Barbara (Joe) Schatkowski, Minnie (Harold) Mengel, Dorothy (Alex) Thomas, and 3 brothers; Sebastian (Ella) Lipp, Andrew (Madeline) Lipp, and Frank Lipp.

Len is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Catherine (Ziegler). Len and Cathy married on September 23, 1961 and they had 3 children Roberta, Derrick (Shantel), and Timothy (Jade); grandchildren Elissa, Jillian, Justin, Tylan, Jacob and Isaac and 3 great-grandchildren Konner, Kaylyn and Meeka. Len is also survived by sisters-in-law Sadie Lipp and Anne Schaeffer; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Len’s dad moved the family to a farm by Dilke, SK when he was a young boy, which is where he completed his education. Len’s first job was with the Royal Bank of Canada (Liberty Sask Branch) where he remained before securing employment with the Sask Wheat Pool Head Office. Len enjoyed his time at the Wheat Pool and often told stories of his time there. Len received several promotions throughout his 34 year career before retiring as the Manager of Grain Shipment and Sales. Len took a part time job with Beaver Lumber before fully retiring in 1995.

Len loved his grandchildren and enjoyed the time they spent at grandma and grandpa’s house; having sleep overs, coloring Easter eggs, watching the excitement of the grandkids at Christmas, working in his yard, or tending to his garden, and the kids loved helping when they could. The grandkids have so many wonderful memories of time spent at grandma and grandpa's house.

Len loved watching and cheering on his grandkids in sports, Christmas concerts, or whatever sport they were participating in. Len enjoyed cheering on the Blue Jays, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, fishing, playing cards with friends, making sausage, taking drives to the countryside, tinkering in his garage, and he took great pride in caring for his immaculate yard and perfectly trimmed hedges.

Len and Cathy belonged to St. Peter’s Church in Regina for over 60 years. They sold their house and moved to Lakewood Manor in 2016, where they made many new friends. Len enjoyed his time at Lakewood Manor and the activities and gatherings they had there.

Len spent the last year of his life at The Victorian Care Home where he was provided with great care and attention.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle Street, on Monday, October 6, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. John-Baptist Okai Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation to the charity of your choice.

Len will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in our hearts forever. As Len often said…….“It Is What It Is”
