Joyce Lois Towle

In Loving Memory of Joyce Lois Towle

August 24, 2025 Passed away after a lengthy illness

Joyce Lois Towle was born in Cadillac, Saskatchewan on January 12, 1942 and moved to the Melfort area as a young child. Her deep love of learning and care for others led her to Saskatoon Teachers College, where she trained to become a teacher. She began her teaching career at the age of 19 in the Kindersley School Unit, and later taught in Regina, Swift Current, and abroad at the Auscan Study Centre in Kupang, West Timor, Indonesia, where she and her family spent a year.

Throughout her life, Joyce was dedicated not only to education but to her faith and community. She served faithfully in her local church, directing children’s programs, teaching Sunday School, and organizing special activities that touched the lives of many young people.

Her love for children extended into her home, where she ran a licensed satellite daycare in Alberta, caring for infants to preschool-aged children with warmth and patience. She also found joy in cross-country and downhill skiing, canoeing and loved camping trips with her family—creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents Clifford and Lois Pearl; her brother Harold Pearl; her nephew Lorne Pearl; and brothers-in-law Garnet Myers and Norman Thibault.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Dennis Towle; her children Travis Towle, Michelle Pellerin (Darren), and Michael Towle (Maricel); her grandchildren Kira, Kiana, Ikee and Kyle; and her great-grandchild Kai (Ikee).

She also leaves behind her five sisters and two brothers, along with their spouses, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives were enriched by her compassion, faith, and unwavering support.

Joyce's quiet strength, generous spirit, and deep love for her family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in King’s Corner Church of God, 2110 King Street, Regina, SK. We have so many fond memories of time spent with you and your family, down on the farm, camping at Cypress, visiting you in Swift Current, Lethbridge and Regina. Joyce was my go to for wisdom and encouragement those years we spent together in Regina. She was gifted with a caring heart for people and she will be missed by many. Hang on to those special memories. They will strengthen and encourage you in the journey ahead.

Many good memories. High school, Teachers College, practice teaching together, a trip to Hay River, going to summer school, bringing her wedding flowers to Melfort from Saskatoon, a high school reunion and so much more. Joyce was a kind and gentle soul.

My sincere sympathy for all your family. I lived with Joyce when she taught school in Regina and I was in teacher's college. She was quiet but loved fun. She was a great room mate (and she had a car).

Joyce was such a kind and welcoming person. Opening up her home to us, inviting us to stay for dinner or sending us home with homemade baking. Thinking of her family during this difficult time. May the happy memories bring you joy and comfort.
