Hockridge, Jennifer Megan (Jenny)

March 26, 2024

Jennifer Megan (Jenny) Hockridge

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jennifer Megan Hockridge (Jenny), who left us on March 26, 2024, at the age of 40. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family, and loved ones. She was a loving and protective mother, daughter, sister, niece, and the coolest auntie. Jenny's vibrant spirit, infectious smile, and boundless energy touched the lives of all who knew her. She loved to read, write poetry and paint. She was a creative force, known for her unique style and the extraordinary, eccentric art that she brought into the world.

Jenny was born on August 28th, 1983, in Brandon, Manitoba, to Belinda and Craig. She grew up as a true free spirit, always possessing a vivid imagination that knew no bounds. Her magnetic personality, full of whimsy and depth, captivated the hearts of many. Jenny was not only a talented artist but also a selfless giver who always fought and protected the less fortunate. An avid animal lover and advocate for animal rights, she shared her life with several cherished pets, including her dog Ramstein, and her cats Darkness and Luna. She was a compassionate and creative soul and will continue to inspire and resonate with those who were fortunate enough to experience it.

In her final act of kindness, Jenny continued her legacy of giving by donating her lungs, kidneys, and liver, thereby saving the lives of others in need. This selfless act added to the many ways she brought light and hope to the world.

Jenny was predeceased by her father Craig Hockridge; her grandparents Margaret Leronowich and Donald Leronowich, Lorne Hockridge and Irene Hockridge; her auntie Darlene Kanigan.

She is survived by her daughter Belle (Robin); her mom Belinda (Lorne); her siblings Jay (Mandy), Kayla, Stacey, Shawn (Maren), Justin (Mandy), Dallas (Aly) and Brady (Abby); her nephews Leo and Jensen, nieces Karina and Scarlett, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will all miss her deeply, along with a community of friends and admirers who were inspired by her passion and creativity. Jenny was a beacon of light and inspiration, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the art she created and the lives she touched.

A Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Carmichael Outreach, a cause close to Jenny's heart.

Jenny's departure leaves a void in our world, but her spirit and light will forever remain a part of us. Rest in peace, Jenny. You are dearly missed, but never forgotten.
