Dear Maureen, Marie and families, Please accept our sincerest condolences at this very sad time for you. Thinking of Jim brought back many fond and humorous memories that we shared as kids and young adults. I was just Cuz to him and together we were both adventurous and mischievous. During our visit to Regina in the summer of 1962, the year of the doctor’s strike, we had our mothers in paroxysms. We explored the city on our own and even snuck into Taylor Field to watch the Riders. But our greatest quest was to get to China. With no one around we gathered a couple of shovels and headed out back to Aunt Betty’s garden. We dug for most of the day, hoping we would get there soon. Our hole was as deep as we were tall. When our handy work was discovered, Ouch! Uncle Andy and my Dad took it much more stoically. Acknowledged our hard work, told us to fill it in and they went off to have a beverage and chuckle. China would be for another time. No candy for that day and I remember our summer activities were monitored much more closely. That was just the beginning. Jim was a great fellow and I know he will be sadly missed.
Peace and grace, Charles and Karen Leskun
