In loving memory of James “Jim” Albert Lovas who passed away peacefully at the Central Parkland Lodge in Lanigan, Saskatchewan at the age of 95 on Saturday, October 25, 2025 with his family at his side.
Jim was born to Albert and Theresa (nee Sentes) on March 26, 1930 on the family farm in the Quinton district. He attended school at Torondal Rural School in the Quinton district.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Albert and Theresa; his wife Jenny (nee Rushka) in 1993; his son Patrick on September 11, 2025; his good friend Margaret Colley in 2021; siblings Anne, Louis, Joe, Tony Sr., Rose, Minnie, Steve, Elsie, Mary and Agnus.
Jim is survived by his children Allan (Marg), Joan (Reed), Kathy (Doug), Michelle (Doyle) and Michael (Noy); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his three sisters Theresa, Helen and Julie.
Dad was a truck driver for Buitenhuis Transport for many years. In 1966 Dad started working for the Govan School Unit at the Raymore High and Elementary Schools as a janitor for 37 years. Later he worked at the Raymore Medical Clinic. When he retired he worked for the town landfill.
Dad enjoyed camping, going on long drives, tinkering with vehicles and woodwork. He was a handyman in lots of trades.
Dad moved to Lanigan, Saskatchewan in 2014 and remained there until his passing. He will be laid to rest beside his wife Jenny and son Patrick.
There will be a Private Family Service at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Central Parkland Lodge in Lanigan, Saskatchewan for the great care Dad received during his stay there.
Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Raymore, Saskatchewan.
