March 19, 2026

It is with profound heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son Jake on March 19, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones at the age of 23. Though his time with us was far too short, the life he lived and love he shared will continue to inspire and comfort all those who were blessed to know him.
Jake had an incredible passion for life and adventure; he lived fully and fearlessly. He inspired everyone, not only in what he could do, but in how it was accomplished; with confidence, ambition, and contagious smile. He always had a special way of grounding those around him, reminding everyone to slow down and appreciate what truly matters.
In Jake’s 23 years, he taught us more than most do in a lifetime. He demonstrated presence, illustrating what truly mattered, and how to anchor ourselves in the moments we are given with those we love. Jake was admired, deeply respected and endlessly loved by his family, his friends, and anyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jake was extremely active and enjoyed a variety of sports including hockey, golf, skateboarding, and dirt biking. He had a true passion and talent for snowboarding, carving his way through the untouched snow in the backcountry at some of his favorite mountain resorts.
Jake loved travelling and immersed himself in new cultures; visiting Vancouver Island, Australia, Hawaii and Japan in these past two years. We were enchanted with stories, videos and pictures on his return home. He found happiness in simple meaningful things; time spent fishing, surfing, hiking, and camping. There wasn’t anything he was fearful of trying. We were forever proud of his determination and character and ever still emboldened by his tenacity and accomplishments.
Jake is lovingly remembered by his parents Tammy Koch (Trevor Koch) and Ryan Silverson (Shay Fecho); his future life partner Kiara Stone; siblings Montana Silverson (Cody Brownlee), Sloan Koch, and Aleiya Fecho; his niece Oaklynn Silverson; his grandparents Terry and Elsa Silverson, Arlette Hincks (Brent Barre), Dan and Arlene Koch; great-grandma Mary-Ann Hincks; as well as his uncles and aunts Carter and Janna Silverson, Jarod Silverson, Ryley Koch, Peter Koch, Lyndsey Koch (Kyle Volk); and cousins Josh and Cole Silverson.
Though we will miss him beyond measure and unsure how to go on without him, we commit to carrying his spirit with us and living by his guidance always. In every laugh, every adventure, and in every quiet reminder to live by his words stress less and enjoy the best.
We will love you forever son.
