Osicki, Gregory Henry

Gregory Henry Osicki

It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Gregory Henry Osicki, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Greg passed away peacefully on the morning of November 2, 2026 following a courageous 17-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

Greg was born on November 9, 1952, in Melville, Saskatchewan, to Henry and Agnes Osicki. He was the second oldest of five children. He attended elementary school at Pulaski Plains School and high school at St. Henry’s in Melville.

In 1970, Greg moved to Regina to attend the University of Regina, where he earned a Bachelor of Administration degree. He graduated in 1974, and he began working at Saskatchewan Property Management Corporation where he dedicated 35 years of his career before retiring in 2009.

In 1976, Greg met the love of his life, Debbie. They were married on November 16, 1979, and shared nearly 47 years together, building a life rooted in love, commitment, and devotion to one another. Together, they raised two children, Robert Osicki (Joan Kwan) and Nicole Penner (Jason Penner), and were blessed with five grandchildren: Margot and Geraint Osicki, and Daniel, Paul and Julia Penner.

Greg was the consummate husband, father, and grandfather. His family was the centre of his world. He loved them wholeheartedly, supported them unconditionally, encouraged them in all their endeavours, and was always there when they needed him. As a father, he was a constant source of love, guidance, and support. His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, and each was fortunate to experience Grandpa's endless love, affection, and pride. It is a shame he didn’t have more time with them.

Greg had many passions and interests throughout his life. For many years Greg played ball for the Rambler Park Fastball League and their team was often league champions with him being named the MVP pitcher. He was a talented and skilled woodworker who took great pride in creating furniture and cabinets, as well as tackling all kinds of projects and jobs around the house. He also had a deep appreciation and love for music. He achieved his Grade 8 in accordion and never missed an opportunity to enjoy a good tune. Music was often playing at full volume, with Greg happily clapping along or tapping his foot to the beat.

Greg also had a very caring side, which was evident in his many years of volunteering on the Pediatric Ward at Regina General Hospital. He loved spending time with the children, whether it was rocking babies, entertaining them with games and wagon rides, or simply reading them a book. Greg had a love for travelling and adventure. He created wonderful family memories through trips to Hawaii, ski vacations, and road trips throughout the United States. Following retirement, he and Debbie continued to explore the world together, enjoying memorable travels to Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Palm Springs, and Hawaii.

Greg was a firm believer in the value of hard work and instilled that same principle in his children. He was a man of remarkable determination and perseverance; qualities that were evident in every aspect of his life. Nowhere was this more apparent than in his 17-year journey with Parkinson's disease. Through the many challenges he faced, Greg demonstrated incredible strength, courage, and resilience. His example of perseverance, love, and faith will remain with his family and all who knew him, helping guide them through the days ahead.

Greg was predeceased by his parents Henry and Agnes Osicki; his brother-in-law Ken Klus; his parents-in-law Robert and Katherine Richards; and his brother-in-law Larry Richards and Larry's wife Phyllis Richards.

In addition to his immediate family, Greg leaves to cherish his memory his sisters and brother Lucille (Mervin) Harrick, Bev Klus, Michelle (Peter) Olijnyk and Gerard (Arlene) Osicki; his brother-in-law Garry (Lynn) Richards; as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

The family wishes to sincerely thank our family and friends for their love, kindness and support during this difficult time. We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the outstanding staff of Unit 3-6 at Wascana Rehabilitation Centre for the exceptional care, compassion, and comfort they provided Greg over the past two years. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

A Private Celebration of Life and interment will be held. A recording of the service will be made available for viewing after Monday, November 9, 2026 for those wishing to pay their respects. The link will be added here when available.
