Gloria Wildeman

Gloria was born on April 6, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and passed away peacefully at Grace Hospice in Regina, Saskatchewan on February 3, 2026. She spent her early years on a farm near Lemberg, Saskatchewan, where she learned the values of hard work, compassion, and service to others that would guide her throughout her life.

After attending school in Lemberg, Gloria pursued her calling in nursing and completed her training in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. She went on to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Regina and Estevan, where she built a respected career in healthcare. Most of her professional life was devoted in the Labour and Delivery Ward, a role she cherished deeply. For decades, Gloria welcomed new life into the world with steady hands and a gentle heart, remaining in this field until her retirement. Gloria was also active in her union, serving with the CNA Association both locally and at the provincial level, advocating for her profession and her fellow nurses.

Gloria was known for her caring personality and constant willingness to help. Families remember her for the time and comfort she gave to parents and their newborns. Colleagues speak fondly of her as a teacher, mentor, and unwavering support to young nurses and medical staff just beginning their careers. She was an active volunteer in many community organizations and in 1989, she received the Volunteer of the Year Award from the City of Estevan.

In retirement, Gloria enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and spending winters in British Columbia. While living in Humboldt, Saskatchewan she and her family billeted hockey players for the Humboldt Broncos and played an active role in the community, always opening their home and hearts to others.

Some of Gloria’s most cherished moments were spent in her garden, tending to her flowers and plants. She was especially proud of the New Hope Serenity Garden, which she helped establish so that everyone could sit, reflect, and enjoy the beauty and calm of nature.

She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Evelyn Barkman; her sister Lillian Treml; and her husband Dieter Treml.

Gloria is lovingly remembered by her children Mike (Angie), Trevor, and Lorraine (Scott Goodwin); her grandchildren Dustin, Stephen, and Trenton; her sister Louise Barkman; her brothers Greg Barkman, Bob (Pat) Barkman, Chuck (Gay) Barkman; extended family, friends, and the many lives she touched through her work and kindness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and medical staff of the Medical Surveillance Unit at Regina Pasqua Hospital for the compassionate and dignified care they provided to our Mom during her time there. Special thanks to Pastor Darlene Harrison, Rev. John-Baptist Okai, and Almassy Metz Funeral & Cremation Services for their care, support, and guidance.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lupus Canada or a charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in New Hope Lutheran Church, 370 McIntosh Street North, Regina Saskatchewan. Live streaming at: https://www.newhopelutheranregina.com/.

Interment Service will be held later this Spring at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Lemberg, Saskatchewan.

Do not mourn those who step beyond this life, for they have not left us behind. They have simply returned to the unseen circle that still holds us all.
