It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of George Shuba. He passed away at the age of 80 years in the Palliative Care Unit 3A of the Regina Pasqua Hospital on Monday, August 5, 2024.
He is survived by his wife Janet; children Carolyn (Thomas), Alison (Bill), Angela (Shawn) and George (Kim); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers John (Marlene), Joe (Dorene), Willy and Carl (Ethel); as well as numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
George was born in Regina, SK and was the youngest of five boys. George married Janet in December of 1964 and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
George lived his life to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan that he enjoyed participating in his early years and watching in his later years. Some of his favorites included curling, hockey, NFL football, golf, soccer and even tennis. One of his all-time loves was horse racing, which lead him to owning his own race horse for a number of years.
As per George’s request no service will be held. A Private Family Gathering will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of George may be made to a charity of your choice.

Dear Aunt Janet & family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about Uncle George’s passing. Although it's been years since we last saw each other, my memories of him during my childhood are still vivid—especially the times I would tease him with "Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry…." Those playful moments have always brought a smile to my face, and they will continue to do so.
Rest in peace, Uncle George. You will be missed, but the fond memories will always remain in my heart.
With heartfelt sympathy, Lisa Shuba
