It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gabriel George Horvath on September 23, 2026 at the age of 83.

Gabe was raised on the family farm and developed a strong work ethic from an early age. A lifelong farmer, builder, and woodworker, he had an incredible ability to teach himself new skills to fix and figure out almost anything.

Gabe found great joy in working with his hands, listening to music, sharing stories, and spending time with the people he loved. He was known for his craftsmanship, resourcefulness, and willingness to help others. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and neighbour whose kindness and dependability touched the lives of so many.

Family was at the heart of everything Gabe did. He especially treasured his role as Papa and took pleasure in creating memories with his grandchildren. In his later years, he remained surrounded by the love and support of his family, finding comfort in their visits, conversations, and time spent together.

Gabe leaves to mourn his wife, Doreen; his children Melanie (Rémi), Chad (Roxanne), and Jolene (Nathan); his grandchildren Robin, Joel, Michaela (Malte), Alex, Matt (Maddy), Nick, Brooke, Ryland, Austin, Gabriella, and Arianna; his great-grandchildren; and his siblings Vicki (late Lionel), Frank (Deborah), Irene (late Mel), and Sylvia (Curtis). He was predeceased by his son Ian and his parents Frank and Mary.

Gabe’s legacy is one of hard work, generosity, unwavering faith, and countless acts of kindness.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 3155 Windsor Park Road, Regina, Saskatchewan. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations in Gabe’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society and/or Aspen Village Special Care Home.

He will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
