Obituaries

It is with great sadness we have to say goodbye to our dad, papa and great-papa on April 21, 2025 at the age of 91. He will be missed by his son and daughter-in-law Fred and Della Gottselig; granddaughters Sara (Branden) Palechaty and Amanda (Glenn) Hoberg; great-grandchildren Carter and Sienna Hoberg.

Fred will also be fondly remembered and missed by his close friends and many who knew him including his nephews and nieces.

Fred grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and had a long career as a pipefitter which took him to many jobs all across Canada. He was a lover of nature and animals and had many pets including Tiny, Cuddles, Lacie, Smokie and Didi. Fred held a special place in his heart for little children and he always enjoyed his visits with great-grandson Carter.

Dad was also an avid hunter right up to the age of 88 years old. His marksmanship was well known to those in his hunting circle. He especially enjoyed hunting with his son Fred, granddaughter Sara and nephew Kevin.

His homemade deer sausage was known to many and to many he gave his recipe, but none could master it quite like Fred and when he made it, it sure never lasted long.

We would like to send a special thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Cupar and District Nursing Home.

As per Dad’s request there will be no funeral service. A family interment will be held at a later date.
