Gibson, Ernest Earl

December 30, 2025

Ernest Earl Gibson

With great love we announce the graduation of Ernest Gibson at the age of 76, at home, just as he wanted to go.

Ernest was predeceased by his sister Lunette. He is survived by his sisters Heather (Larry) and Stacy (Robert); children Jared (Mandy), Gabriel, and Jesse (Donna); grandsons Devan, Connor, and Franklin.

Ernest returned to his hometown in Regina, Saskatchewan over the past years and drove cab. He had great appreciation for his prairie ancestors and knew the history of the Wilsons and the Gibsons. He was a complex man, deeply philosophical, idealistic, lived a life full of spirit, but was often disappointed in the state of humanity. He’d say “People, Be Civilized”.

He had a childlike enthusiasm for all things, and we’ll miss his booming laughter, intense blue eyes, beautiful smile, and soft-hearted gratitude for “living in grace.”

Ernest would want us to celebrate his God-given life and have us singing “Sentimental Journey”.

Family and friends will get together later for a Memorial Service.

Condolences

Jan Warrick (Gentles)

Bowmanville Ontario Canada

I knew Ernest in the late sixties. In fact, he and Gaile were witnesses at our wedding in Vancouver in 1968. I can attest to the comments about Ernest's "booming laughter and intense blue eyes." He found joy in everyday living and in his unwavering faith in God. We affectionately called him a "Jesus freak." He was one of a kind. RIP, old friend.

We were fortunate to have shared a meal with Ernest in 2002. Always a great laugh and philosophical discussions. Now he is on to the Urantia Universe.

I hear your voice. I see your beautiful eyes. You, no doubt, are singing and laughing now. Love to Win, Gabe and Jesse & all your family and friends. "We'll meet again."

We didn’t know Ernest long enough or well enough but the man we did know was a gentle and wise spirit. The world could use more of that. Safe and good journey Ernest.
