February 11, 2025
Doris Mae Rose Crawford, age 83, a devout Christian from Regina Beach, Saskatchewan returned to God and her beloved husband David on February 11, 2025.
She was born in Toronto, Ontario in 1941 to Ted and Ethel Burley. She later met and married the love of her life David Crawford on November 14, 1958. They moved and spent many years living in Burlington, Ontario before moving to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1968. Doris was a homemaker while her husband travelled Canada as a truck driver. Doris not only cared for her 5 children she was also a foster mom and a childcare provider. Doris played a large part in her grandchildren’s lives as they grew into the adults they are today.
Doris was a devoted Christian who cherished her Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Dave and Doris attended their favorite church Heritage Alliance Church in Regina, Saskatchewan when they were not down in Arizona attending church while hiding from our cold winter months. Doris took solace in knowing the Lord was watching over her and would reunite her with her husband David.
Her favorite Bible verse was John 14:1-6 “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” Jesus the Way to the Father Thomas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”
Her Christian values formed every aspect of her life and molded her into the beloved person she was.
Doris was best known for always showing up to any function with her famous Deviled Eggs. They were a staple at any family dinners and became very popular with her Arizona church family and were mandatory at any function being held.
Doris was predeceased by her husband David Crawford and parents Ted and Ethel Burley, who she has met again in Heaven. She is survived by her children Tim, Kathy, Debbie (Ron), Su-Ann, Paul and Corey (Amber). She had 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren who know Doris will be waiting for them in the afterlife.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in Heritage Alliance Church, 3575 Hillsdale Street, Regina, Saskatchewan. There will be dainties and refreshment provided after the service. Donations to Heritage Alliance Church for continued sponsorship of their missionaries in Doris’s name are encouraged.
