October 31, 2025
It is with great sorrow to announce the passing of Donna Balez on October 31, 2025 at the age of 63. She has been battling thyroid cancer for the past three years, with the past few months being the worst. She passed away peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Regina Pasqua Hospital.
She was predeceased by her father Anton Bistretzan and her mother Rita Bistretzan. Donna is survived by her husband and soulmate Paul; her children Tony (Bev), Amanda (Randy) and five grandchildren; her sister Diana and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed her many crafts, participating in motorsports, off-roading, bonfires with friends, riding side by side and a love for fishing. She’ll be reunited with our labs Mater and Finn which she loved dearly.
No service will be held.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Donna at Supreme Basics, what feels like a lifetime ago. But the time I spent with her were some of my favourite memories. We talked every day for years, told stories about our days/evenings events; she was the work family you loved to be around. We enjoyed goofing around at the holidays wrapping presents for Adopt a family (I’m pretty sure I have some hilarious photos). I would hear stories about what Tony and Amanda were up to; some new hobbies that you both were trying out, like Woodworking… and of course how the dogs were (Mater)... She had a spark and it was infectious - she could just light up a room.
Paul, you were her rock, you made her smile everyday and she was so in love with you. You were truly soulmates.
I am so thankful to have been a friend of Donna’s, and will always cherish the time we spent together.
Sending lots of love to all her family.
