It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Daku, a cherished soul who brought light, love, and laughter to those fortunate enough to know him. Donald passed away peacefully, surrounded by the family and friends who meant the world to him.
Donald was born and raised in Kipling, Saskatchewan, and worked hard on the family farm with his parents and 3 siblings. He later made Regina, Saskatchewan his home, where he spent most of his life and built a meaningful career as a dedicated and meticulous land surveyor, helping to shape both his local community and many parts of the country.
Donald embraced life's challenges with steadfastness and entered every room with a smile. Whether working tirelessly, lending a helping hand, or sharing his unforgettable sense of humor, he left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
He will be remembered as a devoted family member, a loyal friend, and a pillar of strength for those around him. Donald's legacy is one of love and inspiration, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Donald is survived by his beloved son Dale Daku; his wonderful and caring partner Grace; her two children Sherry (Merv) and Shawn (Janet) and five grandchildren Katelyn, Carter, Parker, Hannah and Karlee; his three siblings Pearl (Frank), Al (Rosanne), and Neil (Dawn) as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. Donald was predeceased by his loving parents Andrew Daku and Helen Daku.
As per Donald's wishes, there will be a private burial alongside his parents. Please feel free to share this announcement online as Donald made friends far and wide and this will allow those to share their memories and condolences online.

I never called Don by his first name, he was always dad to me. I met him when I was a preschooler, and he used to drive my brother Dean and I to daycare in THE COOLEST CAR. He married our mom Sandra in 1972 and we moved to Whitmore Park. I was 10 when Dale was born and we all spoiled him. During my high school years, I was aware that dad had problems with alcohol but I never doubted his love, or that he cared deeply about the gravity of the situation. I graduated and moved away, at the same time he and mom separated. I never saw him after that, except a couple times. I heard he quit drinking and was struck by the irony. Jesus said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” RIP until we meet again. 🙏

So sorry to hear of Don’s passing. I was fortunate to have worked with Don at numerous land survey companies since the 1990’s. I never saw Don lose his temper and rarely saw him without a smile on his face. He will truly be missed by many!! Bye Don❤️

It's very upsetting to hear of Don's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Don at Southern Surveys in the mid 80's. I always enjoyed the days when I was on Don's crew along with Richard. We all worked great together and there was never a dull moment either during work or after hours. Don's kindness and great sense of humour will be cherished. Thoughts and prayers to Grace, Dale and the Daku family.

I had the pleasure of knowing Don for over 50 years. I have nothing but great memories of our time together. I selfishly wish he is still with us, but realize that he suffered and fought long enough. RIP Don Our sincere condolences to Dale, Grace and family Doug and Shirley Soutar
