Dianne Louise Gienow (nee Downie)

Dianne, late of Craven, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. She was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on November 27, 1946 to Alexander and Lillian (nee Cornish) Downie.

Dianne was a constant figure at Riverside Gardens, Kissel’s Cabbage and later at Lincoln Gardens. There were many staff members trained by Dianne on how to bunch beets, onions and carrots. Dianne loved watching her kids and grandkids in all their sports. Dianne was there to cheer them on at all their baseball, hockey and ringette games. After a day’s work and sports watching, Dianne put her feet up with a good book. Dianne loved baking Christmas goodies for everyone, she was especially known for her raisin tarts and carrot cake.

She will be forever missed by all of her family and friends. Dianne will be lovingly remembered by her sons Tim, Wayne, Jeff (Adele) and Kevin (Lisa); grandchildren Wayne, Chad, Christopher (Nicole), Nicholas, Alyx, Avery, Megan, Tristin, Liam, Caden and Brady; great-grandchildren Jordanne, Autumn, Noah, Katherine, Winston and Leo; her brother Ron; her sister Barbara (Dennis); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Dianne was predeceased by her husband Doug; parents Alec and Lillian; her brother Keith; father and mother-in-law Ralph and Dorothy; and daughter-in-law Linda.

A Celebration of Dianne’s life for all will be held at a later date. The family extends many thanks to the caring staff at Meadow Edge House and the Regina Pasqua Hospital, especially the MSU Unit.
