March 28, 2024
Daren Albert Singer passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 28, 2024 at the age of 58.
Daren will be deeply missed by his children Crystal (Rob), Michael (Carissa), Danny (Jordan), Angela (Aron), and David (Stephanie); his granddaughters Brittney (Derek) and Erica; his great-grandson Easton; his sister Ingrid (Kevin) Sockett; his aunt and uncle Rudy and Barbara Zitta; his children’s mother Terri; his father-in-law Mervyn Ross; brothers-in-law Ken (Sue), Bob, and Tony; as well as nieces, nephews and many other people whose lives he touched and often referred to as his ‘unofficial children’.
Daren was predeceased by his parents Albert and Paula Singer; his mother-in-law Donna Ross; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Daren was born on April 29, 1965 in Regina, Saskatchewan. Daren’s passion in life was being a father; he had no greater love than the love for his children and family. He was extremely proud and supportive of each and every one of them. Daren was also very passionate about his career at Auto Parts Plus and Continental Engine Rebuilders in Regina. He was so proud about the career he built and the many relationships that he made over the years. He always used to joke, “I could have gone to the NHL, but then I discovered my passion for selling automotive parts”. Daren also spent most of his life involved in hockey, coaching for many years as well as playing. He formed so many meaningful connections at the rink.
Anyone who knew Daren knew what a big heart he had. He spent his life helping others and was always there for anyone experiencing hard times. He had an amazing gift to make anyone feel better after just being with him or talking to him. Daren has had a lasting impact on so many people’s lives who had the opportunity to know him.
A casual Come and Go Lunch Celebration will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at The Docks inside the Local Market, 1377 Hamilton Street, Regina, SK.
The family would like to thank the staff at Wigmore Hospital, Moose Jaw, SK and the Pasqua Hospital ICU, Regina, SK for their compassionate care of Daren and his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made in his memory to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Regina Detox Services or an organization of your choosing.

One of the best memories of my childhood was when Daren (Mr. Singer) took Danny, myself, and a few other friends to Rowan’s Ravine with his RV camper. I thought he was the coolest dad ever. He was passionate about being sure we all had a great time. I have never felt more Canadian than when I was blessed to be in the presence of Mr. Singer.
My condolences to the Singer family. God bless.

I am so sorry to hear of Daren's passing. He was one of the kindest people I have known and treated me and all of us so well over at Wilkinson Diesel. I had been thinking of him lots since he had become ill this year and was hoping he was on the upswing. What a tragic loss. Condolences to the family and all of his friends.
