Clarence Dennis John Honoway, age 80, late of Tobin Lake, Saskatchewan passed away on July 26, 2026 at the Regina Pasqua Hospital.

Clarence was born in Canora, Saskatchewan to John and Olga Honoway. He attended Avonlea Elementary School. Then he attended Bowsman High School. He worked for IBM in Winnipeg, Manitoba while taking his post-secondary education to become an accountant. He was transferred to Thunder Bay, Ontario after finishing his studies. Two years later he was promoted to a manager role in Regina, Saskatchewan. In 1975, Clarence became employed by SGI. He retired 29 years later.

He joined the YMCA where he enjoyed playing racquetball. He entered many racquetball tournaments. He also loved jogging at noon. Clarence loved the outdoors. Cross country skiing, camping, fishing, travelling, gardening, and reading were some of his passions. He took the boys and their friends up to Northern Saskatchewan on many canoe trips. Clarence enjoyed being a Scout Leader for the Ventures and even took the Scouts down to White Fish, Montana for downhill skiing. Every Saturday night you could find him in front of the TV watching his favourite hockey team, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Clarence was a very quiet individual. However, if you asked, he would help anyone who needed it. He was a wonderful carpenter who built most of our cabin, which later became our home. He loved going to watch his grandchildren play sports and attended many dance recitals.

Clarence is survived by Verdell, his wife of 58 years; elder son Sean (Renee) and their children Ashlyn and Rayan; younger son Ryan (Erica) and their children Quinn, Bennett, Layne, and Lincoln; his sister Sharon Greenwood and her children Haysn, Kumari, Selwyn, and Arrot.

Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the G. Marconi Canadian Italian Club, 2148 Connaught Street, Regina, Saskatchewan. In lieu of flowers, donations in Clarence’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
