MacIsaac-Zerr, Cecilia Anne

October 6, 2026

Cecilia Anne MacIsaac-Zerr

Cecilia was a true prairie girl, born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael Zerr, in 1983. She often said her greatest gift in life was her two children, Jeffrey (1990) and Carly (1992). As a mother, Cecilia was a special confidant, an earnest supporter, and most importantly, a very best friend.

If you knew Cecilia, you knew her gentle and nurturing soul. She cared for everyone around her with an abundance of kindness and compassion. Her rays of warmth shone brightly to everyone who knew and loved her. Cecilia enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and could find beauty, humour, and positivity in everything around her. Baking, painting, reading, gardening, decorating, poetry, and card games were some of her favourite pastimes. She easily connected to the youthful spirits of children. She spent 31 years teaching and guiding students as a primary school teacher.

Later in life, “Grandma C” was her most prestigious title. Experiencing her grandchildren’s milestones and little personalities take shape brought her immeasurable joy. During her long battle with cancer, her grandchildren were Cecilia’s “best medicine”!

Cecilia was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Zerr (1995); parents Bernard (2007) and Teresa MacIsaac (2023); father-in-law Joseph Zerr (2014); and brother-in-law Robert Schneider (2013).

She is survived by her loving children Jeffrey (Katie) and Carly (James); as well as her precious grandchildren Jackson, Carter, and Emilia Zerr. Cecilia was the youngest of her siblings: Thomas (Verna) MacIsaac, Bernice Schneider, Roderick and Linda MacIsaac. There was a special place in Cecilia’s heart for her mother-in-law Agnes Zerr and her sisters-in-law Susan (Ron) Wight, Kathy (Farley) Fahey, and Jody (Pete) Lefebvre. Cecilia will also be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews and their young families. She had also been blessed with numerous cousins and many lifelong friends.

Cecilia requested there be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the Pasqua Hospital Palliative Care Unit or the William Booth Grace Hospice.
