Antonio Coppola

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our brother, uncle, friend. Antonio Coppola, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away suddenly on July 4, 2024 of natural causes.

Left to celebrate his life are his sisters, Rosa (Peo) Giovannetti, Eufemia (Roberto) Ricci, and numerous family members including an aunt, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Antonio was predeceased by his parents Concetta and Marino Coppola.

Antonio was born on February 2, 1949 in San Mango sul Calore, Italy. In 1965, at 16 years old Antonio moved to Canada with his mother and sisters to join his Uncle, Saverio Coppola, and family who had settled in Canada. Antonio lived and worked in both Regina, SK and Calgary, AB as a tile setter and later with the Calgary Board of Education. He was a lifelong Saskatchewan Roughrider fan, loved and enjoyed his family and friends. Antonio always had a good joke to tell, he will always be lovingly remembered as Uncle Buck by his family. He enjoyed the outdoors, being in the mountains, and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and fishing. In his later years, Antonio lived at Pioneer Village and Wascana Rehabilitation Centre in Regina. During his later years, Antonio developed a love for creating artwork and took great pride in gifting his artwork to family and friends. We are forever grateful to all the staff and residents at both care centres for the care, compassion and friendship provided to Antonio.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Wascana Rehabilitation Centre Chapel – 2nd floor, 2180 – 23rd Avenue, Regina, SK. Private family interment will be held in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
