Anthony Lawrence Schachtel, late of Regina, SK born on June 4, 1953 passed away peacefully on September 26, 2026 at the age of 73.

He was predeceased by his parents Raymond and Isabella Schachtel; his sister Joyce Bruce and long-time friend Terry Safioles. Anthony (Tony) is survived by his sons Jason Marcil, Terry Tull, Stacie Canada (the daughter he always wanted); 4 grandchildren; siblings Patricia (Gary) Zentner of B.C., Michael (Brenda), Gabriel (Tammie), Maria (Earl) Rudd, Peter (Erika), Bernie (Dean) Lefebvre, Cathy (Paul) Dobni; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Tony loved to go for coffee and lunches at A & W with our mom and later his brothers took on the regular outings. He was passionate about cars and took to car repairs very early, and for his family, he was the go to for many repairs. In his earlier years Tony took pride owning his own cab, and later spent many years working alongside his mother and brother in their perogy business. He enjoyed movies, but it had to be comedies or old westerns. Tony loved the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the television was always tuned in to the games with a bowl of munchies on his lap. His final years were spent at a care facility where he would often be seen outside having a smoke and a visit with fellow residents.

We wish to thank everyone at Brightwater Senior Care Living in Regina for their kindness and care they gave to Tony.

The family will truly miss this quiet man with the silent love he had for his family.

He leaves us knowing he was loved and cared for by his family; we have lost a quiet humble man with need for only company and his cigarettes. Till we all meet again Tony we love you!! Now you can have coffee with your long time good friend Rodger. And to all of that Tony would say……Yuuup.

Graveside Service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Regina, SK. The family asks in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
