It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Al Gray. He passed away peacefully at the age of 86 in the Palliative Care Unit of the Regina Pasqua Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Kay; children Debbie (Norm), Candace (Martin) and Rod (Wanda); stepchildren Drew and Jennifer (Anthony); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law Josephine Gray; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife Inge and his nine brothers and sisters.
Al was born in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan and was the youngest of 10 children. He first married Inge Nimrichter in August of 1958, who sadly passed away in April of 1989. He married Kay in October, 1990 and lived in Regina, Saskatchewan. He enjoyed the family dinners and visits over the years. He was an avid fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and his love of the Riders never faltered whether they were winning or losing.
Al had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and started several businesses in Regina. The first was Alin Decaro Enterprises Ltd. It was a family run business, initially focused on boarding dogs and cats and the breeding, raising, training and selling of German Shepherds, Bouvier des Flandres and American Cocker Spaniels. It later grew to include a number of pet shops in Regina and Southern Saskatchewan, as well as a wholesale/distribution pet food and supplies division covering western Canada.
Later, he started Liberty Lifestyles. It was a small retail store providing various mobility aides for the elderly and handicapped including scooters, walkers and wheelchairs. He had a very strong work ethic and was still involved in business prior to his passing; retirement was not in his vocabulary.
Memorial donations in memory of Al may be made to a charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. in the G. Marconi Canadian Italian Club, 2148 Connaught Street, Regina, Saskatchewan.

We boarded our dobes with Al and Inge many years ago. I always enjoyed my visits with Al and he would regale me with the many misdemeanors committed by our one dog during his stay...with good humour!
RIP Al
