September 11, 2024
Vincent John Leier Jr. passed away comfortably in Regina, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at the age of 82.
Vince was predeceased by his parents Vince Sr. and Anna (Leibham); his brother Pat; and nephew Tom.
Vince is survived by his sisters Lorna (Jerry), Donna (Barry), Andrea (Ed), Barb (Brian) and baby brother and pool partner Norm; daughter Laurie (Greg) and grandson Bennett; daughter Jackie and grandsons Jesse and Eric. Vince is also survived by many special nieces and nephews, and his most loving partner Arlene.
The pool tables are a little quieter today. Vince won many 8-ball and snooker tournaments over his life, playing his last game at the Regina Senior Citizens’ Centre the morning he was taken to the hospital. A career in sales spent travelling around Saskatchewan led to a lifelong love of driving and road trips, especially to the mountains. He also enjoyed his daily walks around Wascana Lake, breakfasts out and keeping track of his grandsons’ activities.
Vince was a seasoned waterfowl and upland bird hunter with his close friend Don and Don’s son Jordan, and his happy place was the Saskatchewan fields and sloughs in the fall. Until stopping hunting a few years ago, he always had a freezer full of food he harvested himself.
The family would like to thank Vince’s doctors and nurses at the Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals, especially Palliative Care Unit 3A for their excellent care and compassion during his final hours.
A Private Family Service will be held as per Vince’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ducks Unlimited Canada or Regina General Hospital Cardiac Care Unit.
Rest easy, Dad; the geese have arrived in the field outside your door.

Hello, Vince. You were the one that loved his tea so much that you always asked for a pot of hot water AND your mug to be filled with hot water, too. I was always shy when I received the table of you and your wife, because you had such a bright personality that I could never match. I will always remember that sly gleam in your eyes and your willingness to jump at any opportunity to tell a joke. Thank you for being a part of my life, and thank you for choosing to spend your time at Cora's. Rest in peace, Vincent.
