June 5, 2026

The family of Todd Richter are saddened to announce his sudden and unexpected passing on Friday, June 5, 2026 at the age of 63 years. Todd is survived by the love of his life wife, Kathy; daughter Ashley (Gaël) and his first grandchild, a grandson lovingly nicknamed Baby T, arriving this fall to a lifetime of Grandpa’s stories; son Jordy (Aisha); sisters Cheryl (Dennis) and Charlene (Brian) and their families; many members of Kathy’s extended family; numerous nieces and nephews; his friends who were family; and his fur-ever companion, Molly. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Arlene.
Todd is forever unforgettable. It only took one conversation for him to find common ground with anyone, fill a room with laughter, and turn a stranger into a lifelong friend. He loved with all his heart, laughed like it was the medicine this world needed, and kept time with a rhythm that drew us all into the same heartbeat. Through his kindness, generosity, and unmistakable spirit, he touched countless lives and left each one richer for having known him. To all who had the privilege of sharing in his journey, Todd was truly a gift.
That gift belonged first to Kathy, his high school sweetheart. Together, they danced their way through life—through every twist, turn, and dip—never letting go. From their love came Ashley and Jordy, the pride and joy of his life. Todd always went the extra mile and then some in everything he did, but especially for his family. He was there for every pursuit, behind every dream, and the first to say, “It’s Go Time,” even when those dreams carried his loved ones far from home. A love like his knows no distance and travels anywhere.
His stories, his laughter, and his love will live on in all who knew him — just as the echo of his yodeler’s voice filled the dancehall and lingered long after the song had ended. He will be forever loved and never forgotten.
A Come-and-Go Celebration of his Life will be held in the Disley Hall, 370 First Street, Disley, SK, on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a program beginning at 1:00 p.m. A private family interment will be held at a later date.
“Some people touch our lives for a moment. Todd touched countless lives with laughter, stories, and love, and those gifts will remain with us forever.”

So sorry to hear about Todd’s passing. He coached me in Ringette years ago, “holy moly, what a goalie” he would always say. I never forgot him. Sending all of my love and light during this unimaginable time.

I met Todd in 2002 and feel truly blessed to have known him. Todd was one of the pioneers in organizing the Last Mountain Lake Stewardship Group back in 2002. His energy and vibrant spirit was a binding force within our group. Todd’s keen interest in water quality and caring for Last Mountain Lake was evident, especially on those days when he volunteered to help with water sampling by boat during the summer, and by skidoo during the winter months; or on those days when he helped organize educational workshops at several lake resorts, for the benefit of children and adults alike. My fondest memory was when our volunteers travelled to southern Saskatchewan to collect Leafy Spurge beetles for deposit into areas around Last Mountain Lake, which would eradicate the Leafy Spurge invasive weed that was threatening grasslands. Our friendship over the years has been a lasting one. He will be truly missed by us all. Sincere condolences to the family.
