It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Joseph Meszaros, late of Ituna, Saskatchewan, at the age of 70.
He lived and ran the family farm with his brother Benny near Parkerview, Saskatchewan from 1954 to 2010. On the farm there were always chores to be done, an animal to be fed, cows to be milked or a huge garden to be tended to. There was never a shortage of things to be done. Family time was stacking wood, picking stones, and peeling fence posts. The most important family time was teaching us how to burn hotdogs and marshmallows on willow sticks over an open fire. He always had time for his kids and always made the best of every situation.
In 2010 they moved to Ituna, where he worked for 9 years before retiring due to health issues. He spent his retirement meticulously doing yardwork and having coffee time with anyone that came to visit. He enjoyed spending as much time with his grandkids as he could. Attending their football games, dance recitals, musicals and anything else that they could come up with. He was very adamant that he had an endless supply of cookies to share with them and to teach them all the bad things that a papa was supposed to teach them.
Robert was predeceased by his father James; mother Veronica (Vera); his sister Theodora; and son Dale Terrance.
He is survived by his wife Bernadette of 47 years; daughter Charlen (husband Martin, children Keanna and Kaylynn); daughter Tanya (spouse Cori, children Dale, Keisha, and Jessie); daughter Nicole; son Gerald (wife Kira); his brother Benjamin (Benny) James Meszaros.
Bob passed away at the Palliative Care Unit at the Regina Pasqua Hospital surrounded by his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Regina Pasqua Hospital or the Allan Blair Cancer Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.
We would like to thank the staff on 5D, MSU and the Palliative Care Unit 3A at the Regina Pasqua Hospital for caring for our family over the last 4 weeks. A special thank you to Kristin from SA and Virginia and La Rae from the Allan Blair Cancer Centre for taking care of our family and making the final hours with Bob special.
As per Robert’s request no service will be held.
“It’s ok, I will be fine.”
