Robert Douglas McCoombs, devoted son, father, grandfather, partner, uncle and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 with loved ones by his side. Robert (known as Bob to some) was born to Douglas and Audrey McCoombs on August 4, 1948 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
He was predeceased by his father Douglas in 2005 and his mother Florence (Audrey) in 2014. Robert is survived by his partner Michelle, daughter Amanda (John) Jenkins, grandsons Braidon and Keegan, his sister Wendy Robar, nephew Patrick, along with many chosen brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert spent his younger years in Woodside and later moved to Eastern Passage, both in Nova Scotia. Robert was a very hard worker and as a young adult he spent 5 years in the air force stationed in Gimli, Manitoba. Robert was sales manager for Canadian Liquid Air, Maintenance, Supervisor for Dalhousie University and Supervisor for Modern Cleaners. After his retirement he drove seniors to their various appointments for Oceanview Manor.
Robert enjoyed baseball, hockey, camping, hunting, fishing and golf. He spent many years at the Plantation Camp Ground where he made many lifetime friends. He enjoyed the annual Lobster Howl at Sherbrooke Lake.
In 2022 Robert moved across the country to Regina, Saskatchewan to be with his devoted partner Michelle.
Robert will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to know him. You are no longer in pain Robert, RIP.
A memorial service will be held in Nova Scotia at a later date.
