It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlin Robert Leib, who passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer. Marlin grew up in the Earl Grey/Craven area before relocating and residing in Southey, Saskatchewan with the love of his life and wife, Katherine (nee Gaschler) Leib and their three daughters.
He is survived by his loving daughters Chancey (Dawson) Sorensen, Jenna (Trevor Kosolofski) Leib and Brandi (Steven) Bradshaw. Marlin also has four adoring grandkids who proudly call him Poppa, Taylor and Tyson (Sorensen) and Nora and Bennett (Bradshaw); his Aunt Ethel (Bud) Starkey; siblings Terry (Don) Caslake, Larry (Beatrice) Leib, Wendy (Doug) Mohr, Sylvia (Steve) Loverick and Lee (Glenda) Leib; his brother-in-law George (Lillian McLellan) Gaschler and sister-in-law Beth Gaschler. Marlin was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Marlin was predeceased by his loving wife Katherine; second wife Brenda (Rostad); his parents John and Jean Leib; his brother Darcy Leib; in-laws John and Marguerite Gaschler, Maryann and Lyle Blaser and John Gaschler.
Marlin spent his days running his welding shop and farming, making time for his morning coffee and 5 o’clock drink with some of his dearest friends; always game for a conversation about cattle, fixing and machinery. Marlin was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
Marlin spent much of his last year being cared for by Dr. Ritesh Kumar with the Regina Neuroscience Clinic, in addition to many other wonderful doctors, nurses and staff at the Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation or Allan Blair Cancer Centre.
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. in the Southey Memorial Hall, Southey, Saskatchewan.

Jenna, so shocked and sorry to learn of your dad’s passing, he was too young to leave all of you. My dad spoke of him as he used to take some of his welding jobs to your dad, he was good at what he did! My sister-in-law Gailene knew both your mom Kathy and Dad from their days growing up in the Earl Grey area, she said he was such a nice guy. Please know my heart hurts for all of you as you grieve his passing. Know that both your Dad and Mom are looking down and guiding each of you each and every day. Cherish the memories, they will help to keep them alive in your minds and hearts. Hugs 🫂 , Claudette

Chancey, Jenna, Brandi and families, we are so deeply saddened by and sorry for the loss of your Dad and poppa. Tim will miss his visits with Marlin so much. We reminisce often about the good times we had with him and your Mom and you girls. Waterslides, camping trips, 4-H events. Missed, but never forgotten.
Our condolences and prayers to Chancey, Dawson & family, Jenna & Trevor, Brandi, Steven & family and all Marlin's family. He rests in peace🙏

I was blessed to be a babysitter for the beautiful Leib girls. My condolences go out to the girls and all of Marlin’s family. The Leib family became more like family as I grew up and celebrated my milestones with me. Whenever I was home I would be welcomed by them. Marlin loved time with his girls but also made time for couple time (a lesson that sticks with me today). Though Marlin is gone his legacy lives on in his girls, each of them is a unique combination of Marlin and Kathy and a gift to this world. Girls lean heavily on each other and continue to be more than family but best friends. Know you are loved and supported even though I am unable to be there in person for your Dad’s life celebration!
