Marjorie Eleanor Anderson, late of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away on March 30, 2023 from cancer at the age of 72.
Marjorie was born on August 28, 1950 to Mary Irene Gollmer and John Rimmington Anderson in Moosomin, Saskatchewan.
Margie completed a Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan and spent her career as an elementary school teacher, specializing in teaching French. She was artistic, an avid gardener and enjoyed teaching fitness classes in retirement. Marjorie made a point of helping new immigrants in the community throughout her life.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation or The David Suzuki Foundation, organizations Margie felt strongly about.

I think that this was the lady who would admire my big Rough Collie when I was walking him on College Avenue, while she was out working in her yard. Banjo and I will miss visiting with her. Condolences to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Margie's passing. I extend my condolences to the entire family. I enjoyed an extended coffee with her last summer, and I was amazed by her enthusiasm and her recollections as we journeyed through our shared history. The messages of remembrance posted here are wonderful and are a testimony to a life well lived. Rest in peace Marg.

I am very sorry for the passing of your mom, mother-in-law, and grandmother, aunt and friend to anyone who knew her. I was the admin secretary at Ruth Pawson School for several years when Marjorie was teaching. I helped Marjorie a little in her classroom with Art because I am a hand-craft potter. We got along well because Marjorie is/was a fantastic person. When I became a school admin secretary, I had been previously 22 years as a legal secretary. I like to tell people that lawyers don't sing and dance in the hallway. Well, that person that did sing and dance in the hallway at Ruth Pawson School was Mrs. Anderson as she led her primary students toward her music class down the hall. It was fabulous to see this happening. The young students were captivated. My main message about Marjorie is her help in the Chess Club. We had 56 students from grades 1 to 8. Each week, we held the Chess Club. Marjorie was very involved. She understood Chess, and she certainly knew the students. We had a grand time teaching, encouraging, keeping their interest and teaching some Chess manners. Marjorie was the perfect co-Chess Instructor. When I came down with neurological West Nile and was not able to continue for some months, Marjorie took over the Chess Club. That's dedication. Marjorie and I were friends outside of school until I moved five years ago to Alberta. We visited and I learned that I could eat flowers! I wish I could be at her memorial today. We are currently out of country. Even so, my thoughts are with her, and I will miss her knowledge, wit and friendship.

My condolences to Marjorie's family and friends. Marjorie was an active member of the book club, writing group, and other programs at Prince of Wales Library when I worked there, and we kept in touch as friends after I retired. She was a talented person, and I especially enjoyed our conversations about books and gardening. Her attitude was an inspiration over the past few months, and she will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to Marjorie's family. We became friends during our student days at U of S and have stayed in touch throughout the years. Marjorie was always creative, positive, caring, and concerned with the welfare of others, helping and inspiring. We shared many interests and hobbies, in our student days as well as in our later lives. She will be missed! Marj, you will live on in my heart for the rest of my days!

My condolences to you Daniel. Zach and I are very sorry for your loss. Your mom and I had a very nice long distance phone conversation shortly before your visit last year and I was thrilled to learn she would soon be meeting her granddaughter for the first time. I called her again in January of this year, after receiving a lovely Christmas card along with the letter she sent out. Time and distance separate, but shared experiences keep us connected. And so, I will remember your mom--a dedicated teacher, a valued job-sharing partner, and a friend.

On behalf of the participants in the Over 50’s Fitness classes at the South Leisure Centre, our condolences to Marjorie’s family. Marjorie was our fitness instructor for over ten years. She was meticulous in her preparation for classes, matching her routines to the length and beat of the music she brought. (Loved those marching band tunes!) She obviously cared very much about keeping us active and fit, and she gave it her all. The way she had us working some of her routines, I swear she could have been a choreographer for Radio City Music Hall in a previous life! We admire her fortitude in dealing with the cancer that took her. A remarkable woman.

I am sad to hear of Marj's passing. We've lost a Guiding sister. I've also enjoyed her drum fit classes over the years including the time we took our class outdoors to the Regina Farmer's Market! May your memories of your mom help to comfort you all in your grief. Rest easy Marg - your struggles are over.
