Obituaries

Marilyn Ackerman (nee Dean), late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 4, 2024.

Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Russell and Miros Dean; mother-in-law Barbara Ackerman; granddaughter Brooke Lee Strohan; and honorary son Jon Burnett. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Manuel Ackerman; daughters Sarah Ackerman and Patti Gurskey; son Andrew Ackerman; son-in-law Wesley Gurskey; grandchildren Samantha (Justin) Darroch, Jessica (William) Dubecky, Mathew Strohan, Rebecca and Cooper Gurskey, Xander Ackerman, Carter Gurskey and Dakota (Johny Friesen) Gurskey; great-grandson Tate Darroch; as well as her four sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Marilyn loved to care for her friends, family and her garden. She always had a beautiful garden and she made the best butter tarts around. You could always pop over for a visit and some puzzle making, she would be sure there was never a dull moment as chatting with loved ones was always her favourite. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Marilyn can be made to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital, 1 - 345 Third Avenue South, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1M6.
