July 21, 2025
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Marian Srochenski — a devoted wife, beloved mother, proud grandmother, and dear friend — who passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, at the age of 88.
Marian was predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph and Antonia Matycio, as well as her dear siblings: Gordon, Lilly, Grace, Josie, Ernie, and Julianne.
She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and devotion. Marian is deeply missed by her husband Walter, children and their spouses: Rod (Wanda), Laureen, Darryl, Coreen, Maureen, Brant (Susan), Dale (Carey), Darren, Traceen (Aaron), Cornell (Jodi), Randy (Rachel), and Jackie (Kelly).
Marian was the heart of her home and the foundation of her family. As a mother to twelve children, she poured her love, strength, and compassion into raising a close-knit, caring family. Her kitchen was always warm and welcoming, filled with the delicious smells of her homemade doughnuts, cinnamon buns, her much-loved Christmas cookies — and of course, her famous cabbage rolls, which became a treasured tradition at family gatherings.
Christmas was Marian’s favourite time of year. She took great joy in decorating her home, especially her beautiful tree, which she adorned with love and attention to detail. She treasured the time spent with family during the holidays — gathered around the tree, sharing stories, laughter, and the warmth of being together.
Marian was a passionate sports fan, often cheering on her favourite teams with excitement and pride. Whether at the rink or around the table, she brought people together through her generosity, sense of humour, and unwavering kindness.
More than anything, Marian loved Jesus. Her faith was the anchor of her life — a quiet, steady light that guided her every step. She trusted the Lord deeply and sought to live a life of grace, service, and gratitude. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now in the arms of her Savior, rejoicing in eternal peace.
Her beloved husband, Walter Srochenski, stood beside her through every season of life. Walter shares: “Marian, I will miss you more than words can say. You were my everything — my partner, my friend, and the love of my life. I love you always.”
Marian leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and the quiet strength that shaped generations. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, extended family, and all whose lives she touched.
Funeral Mass in celebration of Marian’s life will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Cecilia Roman Catholic Church, 5020 - 7th Avenue, Regina, SK. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In honour of her memory, the family invites you to bake something sweet and share it with someone you love — just as Marian so often did.
Her love lives on in every cherished memory, every warm kitchen, every Christmas spent surrounded by family, and every heart anchored in Christ.
She will be forever in our hearts.

Deeply saddened to hear the loss of your mother, grandmother and wife of Walter Marlon. She was a great lady who I liked alot. I used to come over to the house on 1331 Elphinstone St. sit down with her in the kitchen and we would talk about anything and everything. I talked to her one time that Randy was going to play pro football and she was thrilled when I told her this. I always admired her how with everybody playing sports and coming and going everywhere how she knew who had ate and who didn't she told me once they are not fading so they have ate. She was a great lady who will be missed and I know I will miss her.

My sincere condolences to the Srochenski family. It is heartwrenching to say farewell to those we love, especially those, like Marian, who selflessly loved and served her family and friends. As many of her dear friends and family grieve her loss here on earth, the angels and loved ones, who have previously passed on, are rejoicing in heaven as they welcome her home. ❤️ May each one of you feel the comfort and peace promised by the Savior.
