Bewcyk, Margaret Joyce

Margaret Joyce Bewcyk

Margaret Joyce Bewcyk passed away at her home on September 1, 2025 at the age of 82, after several months of illness. In her final days, she returned to the comfort of her garden, thinking even then about planting lettuce before the season ended. A few hours later, she left this world as she had lived in it - quietly, with dignity, and in her own way.

Born on June 8, 1943 in Roblin, Manitoba, Margaret was the third of ten children. She learned early the value of hard work, resilience, and self-reliance. She carried those lessons into her own family, raising seven children and guiding them with a steady hand and a quiet heart.

She found joy in simple things: the feel of soil between her fingers, a good book, a curious question answered, a meal shared without fuss. She did not seek more than she had, and in that quiet contentment she gave her family a model of strength, humility, and enduring love - a love that may not have always been spoken aloud, but was always present.

Margaret is survived by her seven children Lorie (Gary) Ras, Dean (Virginia) Holunga, Ken (Gabriela) Sadowski, Aaron Sadowski, Shauna Sadowski (Louis Bennett), Nathan Sadowski (Sonbol Soltan), and David Sadowski (Crystal Ell); her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and six siblings Oliver (Beverly) Bewcyk, Sylvia (Edward) Pawluk, Harold Bewcyk, Emily Bewcyk, Larry (Carol) Bewcyk, and Alan (Valerie) Bewcyk.

She was predeceased by her parents John and Edna Bewcyk; her first husband Harry Holunga (1968); and three siblings Reatha Turcotte, Mervin Bewcyk, and Diane Chursch.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Regina Floral Conservatory, 1450B – 4th Avenue, Regina, SK on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. In remembrance of Margaret, her family invites those who knew her to plant something and care for it, a small tribute to the quiet strength and steady love she carried through her life.

I worked with Margaret for many years as well. She was always kind and happy, the best kind of coworker a person can have in the next office to me. She got to hear me natter, laugh or cry. How she put up with me I'll never know. Margaret you will have a huge garden to work now. Rest in peace .
