January 25, 2024

Margaret Florence Luhning (nee Yanz)

Our beloved Mom, Margaret Luhning, formally of Lumsden, SK, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2024 at SHA Parkside Special Care Home in Regina, SK.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband Alfred in 2020; son Larry in 2023; her parents Frank and Julia Yanz; as well as all of Margaret’s and Alfred’s siblings. Mom was the last of an era. Left to mourn are her sons Lloyd (Sandi) and Ken (Fay); daughter-in-law Linda; her cherished nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her special friends.

A Private Family Interment Service was held at the Disley Cemetery on January 30, 2024 where Mom was laid to rest beside Dad. The weather was unbelievable for January. The day was beautiful, warm and sunny.

A complete obituary will follow at a later date with the announcement of a Celebration of Life for Mom and Dad. Flowers gratefully declined. At Mom’s request, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Disley Community Cemetery or a Charity of your choice.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the Nurses as well as the Continuing Care Assistants at SHA Parkside Special Care Home for the wonderful care of our Mom.

Dear Lloyd I am so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing, my mom Mary and your mom did not have a long time together but I saw them as kindred spirits, very much caring for one another. My mom always referred to Margaret as her dear friend. Thank you for always stopping in to say hello to my mom.
