Lucy LaVerne Finnie, wife to Richard Alex Finnie, passed away on July 7, 2023 after a short battle with cancer. She was mother to Roxanne, Rodney and his wife Dawn, Roberta and her husband Kurt, Rick and his wife Ally, and grandmother to Amanda, Samantha, Mia, Emme, Josselyn, Rhys and Hallee. Her final moments were spent in the compassionate care of the Palliative Care Unit in the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan surrounded by family.

Known for her sweetness, joy and love of gardening, Lucy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She had many friends in her congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses who will treasure their memories of her friendly smile. Lucy’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life, not the sadness of her passing.

Lucy is survived by her husband Richard; her sisters Linda and Lavina; her brother Alvin; her children and grandchildren; her beloved dog Max and many, many plants that she cultivated and nurtured over the years. She was predeceased by her brother Robert; her sister Mabel; her father Louis and mother Mabel.

A Private Graveside Ceremony will be held. A public Memorial Service will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cityview Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses or to the Allan Blair Cancer Centre.
