Katernick, Loretta Joy

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Loretta Joy Katernick, late of Regina, SK., at the age of 82 years. She passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024 with her family at her side.
Loretta is survived by her daughters Laura Uhren and Lana LaFavor (Mark), her son Darren Katernick (Janine); grandchildren Pamela, Sarah (Mike), Donald (Lea) and Matthew; great-grandchildren Savanna, Payton, and Caleb; her sisters-in-law Rose Miller, Marie Dreger, Jeanette Bolton, and her lifelong friend Carol Greaves.
Loretta was predeceased by her husband Peter; her parents Alex and Anne Sawchyn; her sister Shirley Peppler and her brother Thomas Sawchyn; and son-in-law Kevin Uhren.
While it is sad to say our goodbyes to our Mom, we know that her and Dad are together again and enjoying time at the lake.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to all of the medical staff that cared for our Mother for the past number of months but specifically the staff at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive, Regina, SK. Private family interment in Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Loretta may be made to the Regina Wascana Grace Hospice, Regina, SK.

Dearest Lana Laura & Darren & families: I heard about your dear moms passing in church yesterday. I am so sorry for your loss & would definitely have been at her funeral but my husband & I didn’t get back from the UK til this Tuesday. Your mom was loved by so many at ht. Every time I spoke with her she shared memories of your family times. She was such a lovely, gentle soul with a smile that always made you feel special. I’ll never forget her. God bless each & every one of you as God our father gets you through this difficult time🙂↕️
