Linda Theresa Garvey (nee Planeto)

It is with great sadness that we are announcing the passing of our sister, Linda Theresa Garvey (nee Planeto) on March 1, 2025 at the age of 75 after her long struggle with brain cancer.

Linda was born on August 30, 1949 in Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Linda grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and attended St. Peter's Elementary School and Sacred Heart Academy High School.

She was predeceased by her father Bill Planeto; mother Helen Milligan; and her stepfather Chuck Milligan. She is survived by her sister in Calgary, Alberta, Sandy Warren (Brian) and nieces Sheena and Sharla; her 2 brothers in Regina, Dan (Marilyn), Gord (Tracy) and nieces Arianne, Alisa, Tessa and nephew Thomas; her stepsister in Regina, Sandy Johnson; her aunt in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Loretta Toupin; and numerous cousins. The family would like to thank Roberta Saint for the support she gave Linda.

Linda was cremated and at her request and in honour of her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service. Linda had a love and appreciation for animals and enjoyed any opportunity to spend time with them. Any donations may be made in Linda's honour to the Regina Humane Society.

I will miss my aunt. I enjoyed her visits to Calgary and our phone conversations. She never forgot a birthday or a holiday and I will miss her funny animal cards. We both had a love of animals and she was always interested in stories about the silly things my dogs were up to. She worked so hard all her life and now she is resting at peace now in a place where all pain is washed away. A place that purges all fears and dries all tears. 🙏❤️

Linda was my stepsister. We definitely did not see enough of each other but I am blessed to be a part of the Planeto family. I always enjoyed going out with Linda, Dan, Marilyn, Gord & Tracy for breakfast & coffee. We have great visits, laughs & just catch up on what everyone is doing. I know she is now at peace & that gives me comfort. She liked to read so I hope she is enjoying a good book. I will miss you❤️

Dan is our brother-in law and we are sending our condolences to him and all his family. Linda had an outstanding invitation to our home for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners throughout the many years we have known her. We were always happy when she would come and join our family for these special meals. Once there Linda would enjoy chatting with everyone especially Albert as she loved to kibbutz’s with him and enjoyed his sense of humour. We would always receive a call the next day whether she came or wasn’t able to join us with her thanks and appreciation. Linda also had a passion for reading and passed on many good books, I hope she is relaxing in a comfy chair with a good read and away from all the pain she had endured this past year. Love from Marcia, Albert and family.

My sister-in-law Linda was one of the hardest working people I know. So when she expressed interest in a weekend bus trip to Deadwood, I wanted to go. We had a great time sight seeing, gambling and enjoying the little western themed town. But my favourite memory was when we went with the bus group for lunch and we got into a fit giggles! We could barely look at each other without bursting into laughter for the rest of the day. It was always a nice thing to hear Linda laugh. I hope she is listening to her country music and smiling down at us now. With love, Marilyn.
