November 18, 2023
After a long, productive, and happy life of service to others, John “Jack” Stewart Bridal went to meet his Saviour and Lord on November 18, 2023. Jack was 92 years old at the time of his passing.
Jack was born a middle child on the farm near Kelvington, Saskatchewan to Charlie and Annie Bridal. He grew up as a farm boy and maintained those roots through gardening, even enjoying vegetables from his own garden this fall.
The summer of 1951 Jack met the love of his life, Phyllis, while serving as an interim preacher in Ontario. They married the next summer and were best friends for over 7 decades as they built a family and grew a wide circle of friends through hospitality and generosity of spirit.
Jack’s career was as a minister in the Church of God. Over his lifetime he pastored 7 different churches, taught at International Bible College, was both a district and national denominational leader, and in his retirement years continued to serve as church clerk in his local congregation for 22 years. Jack loved His Lord and the church.
Jack is survived by his wife of over 71 years, Phyllis; by his children Linda (Jon), Allan (Deb), Barb (Glenn), Brian (Debbie) and Garth (Shirley). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He loved chatting with them and hearing of their exploits and lives. He is survived as well by his sister Betty (Art) and his brother Bill. He was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Annie Bridal; a daughter Brenda and his brother Bud and Walter.
Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in Kings Corner Church of God, 2110 King Street, Regina, Saskatchewan.
