July 12, 2023
July 12, 2023. Today the world lost a very special angel when Johanna Hutzul passed away peacefully and spread her wings for the world beyond. Johanna was born in Theodore, Saskatchewan and spent much of her early childhood on the farm surrounded by nature, animals, and family- all things she held near to her heart throughout life. Johanna was predeceased by her parents Lena (Malescuk) and Fred Hutzul, infant brother Melvin, sister Marjorie Jones, great-nieces Courtney and Kallie Totten, special aunt and uncle Mary and Steve Rosko, special cousins Jenny and Harry Kozakewycz, Emery Rosko and Marie Toro. She is survived by her sister Sonia (Sandy) Totten and their children Tammy, Tim, and Tom, nephews Greg, Gary, and Marvin Jones, as well as many extended family members.
Johanna was a beautiful soul, truly an angel here on earth. Her kindness and compassion had no boundaries and she always put others before herself. Whether a stray animal, a friend in need or a complete stranger, Johanna was quick to offer care and support. She offered her home to international students for many years. The cards and letters she still receives are a testament to the great impact she made on their lives. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh was musical.
Johanna possessed amazing strength, courage, and resiliency to overcome the many challenges she encountered over her life. She accepted people as they were, never judging, and always looking for the good in everyone. She was truly a remarkable person who will be remembered and loved for all eternity.
Johanna would like to thank everyone who supported her in the last months of her life journey with a special thanks to Amanda, Erin, Barney and Diane.
At Johanna’s request, there will not be a funeral. Friends and family are encouraged to celebrate memories of Johanna in a manner that is best for you.
